Yeah, that's the way a friend should be!! Wouldn't it be nice if the world was like that instead of being so cynical, selfish, jealous, & two faced to people. I can honestly say people are A LOT different in the bigger cities than the country. People are NOT meant to live like that! Being a country boy & after working in a big city i see the people are so rude, unhappy, & impatient, not all but the majority are. Most of my family & friends are like hillbilly. Thats one reason this channel does well, it has good down to earth, caring people with good attitudes, that do great work!👍

A trick I used to do is wrap copper tube around a 5 gallon bucket (for the shape) then hook the tranny lines to it. put the copper coil inside a cooler, and just before the derby, fill the cooler with ice. Keeps the transmission cool and the engine cool. I never ran a radiator. Edit: I love Hillbilly's dedication to and for Robby!!!

My Dad told me about a guy in HS that did that with his fuel line on a '66 4 door Nova that was the fastest guy in town.

Two things guys: First, on a GM, you can unbolt the flex plate and push the torque converter back the little bit to clear the flex, leaving the transmission in situ. 2nd: I grant you the LS is a decent motor, but the headache and teeth rattling music that comes from listening to a 3rd gen Hemi is like listening to the New York Philharmonic powered by Mopar in a Hellcat vs the LS powered jr high school band with a class of 12 students. 3 of 12 orchestral students can't play do to accademic probation, four more are off drinking bud light from the dumpsters behind the lobar bar and adult daycare. The poor LS will sound great until Mopar starts breathing fire and the LS clenches so hard it seized. That's it. hen those engines

@@kens407 I used a rebuilt Chevy 350 for my derby engine. I don't know about Dodge, but I do know a Ford is hard to start once it gets hot. This isn't about my brand name is better... this is about cheap parts, and they didn't stop running until it blew up. Old school engine is the best for derby.

I remember goofing around the shop after hours working on various projects over the years. Our buildings were on our property so we didn’t have to commute. Seeing little Lincoln play with the Badlands floor jack cracked me up because my son was obsessed with vacuums and floor jacks. Good luck in the derby!

Use earmuffs and a 3 foot piece of rod on one ear cup. You can listen to a lot of components and not have to guess. US Navy machine spaces in the 70s taught me that and I've been doing it for 50 years. Love the show and the family feel.

Robby it was definitely awesome hearing that motor rev up when your wife hit the throttle on the new motor that you was running!! You should definitely take lots of pride in her out helping on the demo cat and seeing her play with big boy toys!!! I definitely love building demo cars!!! I have a buddy that I have been helping him build his derby cars for the past 4 or 5 years!! Last year he got second place if I remember correctly in are area!!

I most closely identify with Hillbilly, Dad tells me I was taking complex things apart by age 4. I am so happy to see his Broncstar dream coming true. When I first started watching this channel, I thought Robby a hard core bodyman. So pleasing to learn he is a major Motorhead like me! Robbie, speaking as a guy who used to run his race cars with open headers, back in the day, I offer advice. I am now in my 60s and a papaw. Not using hearing protection when I was young and tuning those motors has cost me more than it was worth. I can still remember the feel and sound of those engines while I tweaked the timing, etc, without ear plugs. I am glad I have those memories, but I now miss when my grandchildren want to whisper in Papaw's ear and he can't hear them very well, or they are coming up behind me and I can't tell it until they grab my hand. When your kids and then their kids talk to you, you will want to hear what they say. No to mention when the boss has something to tell you and you have to ask her to speak up. Love the unprotected sounds now, and weep for the sounds you miss later. Your life, and choices my brother; but I only wish I had been smarter. God Bless you and yours.

That recent gift to Hillbilly was well deserved and this video verifies that completely! So glad to hear you are gonna repair the ls for something, in the future. Gonna need a new block, and A lot of micing and measuring to find out what the issue is(other than the broke block. I think it's an awesome project to your friend and ours, None other than Mr Merlin. He sure seems like a really good engine man. Now to address something else. Let's start back from the live. There was very litle of Cody, and the very lovely and cute Ms Demorie (please forgive me ma'am if I butchered the spelling of your name) It was the Robby and Hillbilly show! Cody and Demorie are such important parts of this channel. We need more from both of them. Cody has such vast experience and Demorie, she has such a great attitude, and She puts up with all you want to do! Now, back to the car. Do all you can to make sure she makes it through and your team gets the win! Each one of you have some special things you do to make your cars last and win. This one time, you all need to collaborate so your chances of winning is as high as possible! And,... when you win, and you four face off each other, it should be a longer show for that much more entertainment!
