In a normal match, for both those fouls, you get a red card immediately. But back then suddenly didn’t mean anything. Plus how can you rigg a whole tournament, where none of the other teams would agree to that. I don’t get it

In Neither case would these be a red. Höwedes was not the last man, and this is not bad enough for a red. It’s a yellow, which I believe he did receive. For Neuer, he wins the challenge, he’s first to the ball. Never a red or penalty. Meanwhile Argentina should’ve had 2 red cards. The foul on Kramer that concussed him, and Agueros foul on Schweinsteiger that made him bleed.

@@Kaiserin well it could be a red, especially in today’s game, since his leg was high up and hit the other player’s knee, which can be seen as a too dangerous tackle. And I feel like there’s a double standard here in your comment, that Kramas’s incident was similar to Neuer’s. They were both trying to intercept and in the process accidently hit the opponent. So it was either 2 pens or no pen lol

@@Kaiserin you don't watch or know about football LOL. just a argentina hater. it does not matter if you win the challenge and get the ball if you do it in a way that harms/can harm the player in a devastating way. kicking a player in the head with your knee is one of the worst things you can possibly do, especially considering how close higuain was to the ball. and the challenge on zabaleta was absolutely horrendous. COMPLETELY missed the ball and kicked his KNEE instead.

I also read somewhere that real madrid were involved in di maria not playing the final. Wonder if that is true. He wreaked havoc on Germany in Germany vs Argentina in a later match. His presence could have helped Argentina win. Not sure if real madrid really stopped him from playing though

And they didn't even give a penalty against Mexico when Argentina really needed to win the game to survive, even a draw would not have saved them. Furthermore, almost the entire Argentina team received yellow cards against the Netherlands, including Messi, who got one for talking back to the ref and the ref also made sure the Netherlands tied the game by giving them last min free kick just outside the box. Not to mention, supposed pro-Messi FIFA would want Messi to lose in a penalty shootout again (like he did against Chile), that’s why they let the two of games go to shoutouts against the Netherlands and France. I mean, they let that happen when they supposedly wanted Messi to easily win the whole thing, it takes one of Messi’s teammates to miss one penalty and that’s it, Messi gets knocked out from the WC or loses the final. Seriously, FIFA rigged it for him so much that they gave France TWO free goals in the FINAL after they did nothing for entire 80 minutes, which had never happened before in a World Cup final. I guess supposed pro-Messi FIFA didn’t want Messi to be the sole hero in the Final after he scored the 3rd winning goal so they made sure France ties the game with penalty help. They even risked Messi losing another World Cup Final if Martínez had not made a crucial save on a last-minute shot from Kolo Muani. Yep, it was totally rigged. But hey, keep coping. The fact is that France had been awarded FOUR penalties in the 2018 World Cup. I bet they didn't say it was rigged for France when they won it. PIN THIS.

The difference is, France’s penalties were all checked by VAR and weren’t obvious incorrect calls, like Argentina’s. And this ridiculous “How could they have rigged the final” is ridiculous. Argentina got favourable calls in the whole final, France only got penalties because VAR intervened. The referee did his best to help Argentina win, including allowing an illegal goal to stand, and giving a penalty for a dive, as well as not giving France a clear penalty. The goals versus Saudi Arabia were offside, you obviously don’t understand the offside rule. The Netherlands also got yellows, and a red. And Argentina should’ve had at least 2 red cards, especially for kicking the ball into the dutch bench.

@@Kaiserin All of Argentina's penalties were fair and didn’t secure any victories: Messi scored a penalty against Saudi Arabia, but Argentina lost the game. Messi missed a penalty against Poland, but Argentina won the game. Messi scored a penalty against the Netherlands, but they won the game through a penalty shoot-out. Messi scored a penalty against Croatia, but they had already scored two more goals to win. Messi scored a penalty against France, who were given TWO penalties in the Final, but they won the trophy through a penalty shoot-out. So cry harder. Accept the fact that Camelnaldo would never win the WC or score a WC knockout goal.

Argentina was the better team that day as well, we couldn't capitalize on our chances. That coach also left key players out because of disagreement, we should of had Tevez coming off the bench instead of Palacio whom also missed an opportunity to score. Germany was unreal that tournament but that game, Argentina was the better team who couldn't finish.

Germany was far better. Germany had more shots, more on target, more corners, more possession. Germany didn’t need penalties to win their semifinals match. Germany was the best team of the tournament, and was better than Argentina in the final. Germany and Argentina both missed big chances, but in the end, Germany was more clinical and won. Cope.

It's pretty simple, If they were given red cards and Then with Messi winning it, they'll say it's Rigged. If they get red card and Messi lose it, they'll say he didn't win even if the opposition are handicapped, so basically it's like if Messi wins, it's Rigged, if Messi Loses, he ghost in Finals.

In Höwedes case, it’s soft, plus Zabaleta also fouled German players with no caution, so it’s fair. The second, Neuer gets to the ball first and punches it before colliding with Higuain, and Higuain saw him coming. It’s a yellow at most, not a foul. And Argentina got away with murder in this game, they gave Kramer a CONCUSSION, and Schweinsteiger was bleeding due to a foul by Aguero, who also wasn’t sent off. But they won’t tell you these things 😂
