If you ever get to watch a shinee concert (which they do have eng subbed ones available on yt) you’ll see they give 200% energy, live stable amazing vocals and performance through entire concert. That goes for their solo cons too. It’s really a must see

Sherlock (Clue + Note) from SHINee World IV is also iconic! The beautiful, white outfits they are wearing during that performance were designed by Key! For vocals appreciation I recommend 'Sleepless Night', 'Symptoms' and 'Orgel' all from SHINee World III, Romeo+Juliette from SHINee World V, or for something absolutely fun and musical like 'Woof Woof' from SHINee World IV.

Shinee manages their concerts segments very well.. usually you will got some hard heavy choreography performances for the few first songs.. then you'll get some mixed medium and light choreographed performances, and you'll get some ballads performances to give them some breaks from dancing, and also some heavy hyped performances where they do some more fun and hyped songs with lighter choreography and then some more heavy dance performances again.. And yessss.. their mics always ON!!! though they will have heavier backtrack during heavier dance performances... Nonetheless Shinee are one of the best live performers out there.. the best in my opinion thou..

"Ring Ding Dong" -- which is a classic in the Kpop industry that originally was released in 2009 -- was the opening song of that set. Right before this, Taemin had performed his solo song "Goodbye (Sayonara Hitori)" while the other members were changing their clothes, so if you notice, you don't see him in the beginning because it took him a little longer to get redressed. However, you can still hear Taemin's voice in the beginning of the song because he was actually singing his lines while finishing getting ready from backstage. You see him pop up from underneath the stage and join them a few seconds into the performance. That's how good they are at what they do. They still give 110% no matter what, and sound perfect even while multitasking. ;) And, if you watch this full concert, you will see that this set is about 1 hour and 20 minutes into their 3 1/2 hour concert. If you think this performance was good, just wait until you see a full set or the full concert, kzbin.info/www/bejne/fYfSZXWnjd5gipo. :D They are impressive when you see them perform one song, but when you see how much passion and energy they use for a full set, and even a full concert, and still are able to maintain stable vocals while singing live the whole time, you will be even more blown away. This concert was SHINee's SHINee World Concert V (SWC5) in Seoul, so it was in 2016. You can tell this concert is in 2016 because Minho has gray hair, which means this was during their "1 Of 1" promotions, which was their title track from their comeback in 2016. You will see they have the same look and style in their "1 of 1" MV. Minho dyes his hair so infrequently, and each of the member's hairstyles usually change so dramatically for every comeback because of their effort to continually be trendy, that you often can tell what era something is part of just by the members' hair colors and styles. This was their 5th world tour -- and at this point they had already held more than 100 concerts in their career. So Onew and Jonghyun were about 27, Minho and Key were about 25 and Taemin was around 23. If you are impressed with Jonghyun's long high note in "Lucifer" -- which is about 20 seconds long -- just wait. Jonghyun is known for his amazing vocal abilities that is why he is considered one of the BEST vocalists of all time. What you just heard is normal when it comes to Jonghyun, especially when he performs live. However, although Jonghyun has some impressive high notes, it doesn't even come close to what Onew can do. Check out Onew's performance of "Friend," where he broke the record for the longest continuous note without changing tone or pitch, at 40+ seconds. All the members of SHINee can hit impressive high notes. Even Minho who is the main rapper and the one with the deepest voice out of all of them, has been known to hit some amazing high notes on occasion. SHINee are considered vocal powerhouses for a reason. What you just heard was the remixed version of "Ring Ding Dong" and "Lucifer," so when you check out the MVs for both of these songs, you will see the songs are different than what you heard in this live performance. Plus, SHINee never performs a song the same way twice, so it's always a new experience no matter how many times you have seen or heard them perform the song. That's why SHINee concerts are considered one of the best concerts in the world. SHINee live are always 300 times better than any of their studio recordings, and it's almost guaranteed that if someone doesn't vibe with one of their songs right away, the minute they see them perform it live, they gain a whole new appreciation for he song and it almost always becomes their new favorite. It's called the SHINee effect. That's why their live performances are considered the top in the industry. What you just experienced is why, even as rookies, SHINee was so highly respected by everyone, including their seniors. Their live vocal ability while performing intense choreography was something no one else was doing at the time, and people were blown away by how perfect their singing and harmonies were. Even still today, SHINee is the group that everyone looks up to and wants to be like.

"So they're the ones who set the standard?" Yeah. Pretty much since debut they were dubbed the kings of live performance. These men jogged and exercised while singing. Their stamina and energy is unmatched. Their concerts are RIDICULOUSLY LONG but in the best way. They never, ever falter. In short, ever since their debut, even by their own admission other companies have looked into creating a group as rounded and complete as SHINee. You can argue on whether they exist already or are yet to be created, but SHINee were and are THE blueprint. (And yes, Big Bang too!)

SHINee live.. yes! This was already halfway thru their concert.. by this time they've been performing for around 1.5 hrs already (and their concerts are usually a bit over 3 hrs long). They opened this concert with a medley of Hitchhiking, Married to the Music, Why So Serious and Juliette.. I hope you get to see those as well. Another suggestion is their opening for their SHINee World 4 concert - Sherlock + Shine + Stranger. Thanks!

I love this performance cause everyone is like -oh they're taking it easy and then the sudden segue into Lucifer choreo 🤣 I think Everybody (live) is one of the best examples of SHINee as kings of live performances cause the choreo is just insane but their vocals remain so stable.

Oh yeah, I felt that "Breathe" you said during Lucifer. :-) Jonghyun will do that to you a lot. (And the others too; Onew especially can hold a note practically forever - once for 40 seconds or so, I think, for real - as Shinee themselves point out, they're five main vocalists.) If you watch Everybody (Tokyo Dome perf) you might also want to watch the dance practice video, the choreo is amazing.

Shinee Everybody live is absolutely insane. It is one of their hardest routines and they sing 100% live and it's just.. amazing. Oh YES, SHINee live!!!! Great reaction, thank you. This is the song that got banned in S. Korea during SAT testing season. It was so addictive that kids couldn't concentrate. Now, if you noticed, Taemin was absent for the first part of "Ring, Ding, Dong". Just prior to the that song, Taemin had performed his solo song, "Sayonara Hitori"(MV is CRAZY: kzbin.info/www/bejne/jYK0e2qwd9-MgNU DP: kzbin.info/www/bejne/hKOmdaSebd6nma8. These have always been safe.) It is a very demanding song to sing while dancing, and he also had to change. This is why he was late joining the group for "RDD". Second, you may have noticed that the dancing wasn't that involved or energetic. I believe that was so Taemin could catch his breath and quickly recover (doesn't take him long). By the time "Lucifer" started, Taemin was fully recovered and they went all out. SHINee know how to pace themselves, especially since their concerts last 3 to 3.5 hours. A MUST watch for all babywols (new SHAWOLs - and you are well on your way) and the most iconic live is "Sherlock" at SWC IV: kzbin.info/www/bejne/g2XTeoGXnaeiiLs or you could see just how energetic they are and watch the triple threat of "Sherlock+SHINe+Stranger": kzbin.info/www/bejne/bauZY3-pgrZglck . “Ring Ding Dong” was the first banned song…it’s not allowed to be played during exam season because so many people claimed they did poorly due to it being stuck in their heads. It’s actually still widely used during whisper challenges and other game shows as distraction music and Jjong’s “Baaayyy-behhh” is part of a trending TikTok sound. I can’t wait to see your reaction to the “Lucifer” dance practice video…the father of all DP videos, featuring Taemin’s trippy shirt. lol
