The Nikon Zf is, in my opinion, the first true classic of the mirrorless era. It is near perfection and to be honest I don't know how anyone can really complain about it. Sure we all will find little quirks for our own use cases - for me its not having a joystick and a thumb grip on the back of the camera (this would not deviate from the styling at all!), but hey - we all can't have everything! What Nikon has done here is really a labor of love - they have shown the world that they get photography. Zf is showing Fujifilm how retro should be done when a company with 100+ years of photographic legacy puts its mind to it. It showed Leica how manual focus in the digital age should be done. It is showing Sony and Canon what 'pure photography' should look like in the digital age. So yes Frames - Nikon just set the gauntlet down for the rest of the industry - The Zf is a real statement from Nikon. I can seriously see myself using this camera for the next few decades or as long as the electronics last :) I havent had this much fun since Nikon released the FM3a

They really did hit a home run with the Zf. It was responsible for getting me back in the full frame game. I bought the Zf with the 24-70 f/4 and their 180-600mm lens for only $800 more than a Z8 body only. And while the Z8 is better in many ways, I prefer the Zf for its mechanical shutter, smaller size, and dials. It's a beautiful camera. Also, despite pretty much everyone suggesting otherwise, I don't feel I need the SmallRig grip. With that said, if they ever come out with a version that incorporates an entire "L-bracket", I'm in!

I was so used to the Z6ii and DSLR ergonomics then I got my ZF didn't realize how much faster and easier to change on the fly with its dedicated ISO, Shutter and Exposure Dials! Not to mention the button layout customization and its of course...the B&W dial I'm now in FULL electronic shutter mode and I don't find the slight jello effect annoying, I can spray at will without having to worry about wear and tear... I'd much rather get another ZF than the upcoming Z6iii... If the ZF gets another update in 3 years, then excellent, looking forward to it! The ZF is my Jam... Probably till forever lol

So I have used the V30 Micro SD cards in my ZF and have a dummy battery that lasts forever. The V30 card did not work in the Leica's but I swapped out a v90 and was shocked that the Zf had no problems in recording 4k 60. Incredible. I love the B&W, Movie and Photo mode also. Plus the dials and of course you can make it all automatic also. Cheers!

The Zf is growing on me. I just purchased one because of Nikon's glacial pace of releasing the Z6III. The Zf with its EXPEED 7 processor has a big autofocus advantage over the Z6II. I found a way around the Zf only having on function button (I don't shoot video, stills only). I set the main dial to "C" and use the subcommand dials. I generally shoot in aperture and shutter priority. I set the function button to AF/AF Area, the red video button to Release mode, the Playback button to Metering, and the AEL/AFL button to Playback where it belongs. I mainly shoot events and indoor action.

I have the first version a9 simply because the dials give it a retro feel because of the 3rd dial so i agree 💯 i wish sony would go retro

I Have Both Camera's.. Nikon Zf And Zfc! Both are Amazing ... Zfc's Autofocus Is also Superb! Like Zf, Low light Performance of Zf is on Next level... ZF's Stabilization is Way Better Than any other Cameras.. Only I miss is Inbuilt Grip... Nikon's ZF Series is a Classic And Amazing Retro looking Camera's

I ordered the Voigtländer 40mm 1.2 and 75mm 1.5 for my Z8 to get a different mood/feeling/rendering vs. the Z glass (which I love) but I am still hesitant about the ZF despite loving the look of it because I love the Z8 sensor with the 45mp and I don't feel that I would be comfortable leaving it at home and just shooting with the zf. But after this video I might reconsider.

Nikon Zf is something that still now many sony and canon fanboys could not digest...Anyday it can beat when it comes to performance and till now Nikon was struggling on the autofocus front..which they have totally blasted out of the park when it comes to Nikon Zf...And at this budget..it delivesr some video codecs which competitors can't even match..they will charge you more for it..

The Zf is far from tiny though. It is also a brick with a terrible grip. The A7C series is buy far the most comfortable compact FF camera series.

I think Nikon made pretty much all the right design and feature choices with the Zf at the price point they wanted to hit. I think they even added a few good surprises like the focus point optimized IBIS. Not everyone will agree but my personal choice would have been to have one CFexpress slot and not the SD and SD micro. People would complain about only one card slot but CFexpress is much more rugged and rarely fails. Just carry a spare or two in the very rare event something seems to be going wrong with the installed card which you should easily catch if you preview your shots after anything more critical at least.

I have a Nikon zfc (as well as a Z6ii) But I only bought the zfc for my g/f and to take out to the mall etc (it impresses everyone as its Mint Green) But I think that the big camera companies should concentrate on traditional DSLR/Mirrorless body style cameras Have so many form factors just dilutes the range and r&D and manufacturing and sale (or the Nikon reps need to up their game and fill the yellow camera display cabinets with coloured zfc's and zf's)

You have a lot of great 3rd party lenses. But I agree on the retro styles lens point. I think Nikon is working on them.

I have been buying the F Mount manual film lenses and third party with the Aperture and Manual focus lenses. It slows me down in taking photos when using these lenses but I a enjoying it more. They are cheaper and some are pretty good in color or B&W. I like experimenting and realizing with adapters that use different lenses on different camera systems saves money and helps in teaching me old stuff like frames knows but very satisfying. Cheers! PS. I interchange M Mount, Sony E Mount and Nikon F Mount lenses and saves me money in the long run. You Keep the Lenses but the Cameras Come and Go.

Actually for most people, buying an extra CF for backup is expensive. Especially for general shooters. That’s one reason SD cards make sense for cameras like this

How typical, an Indian being negative to another Indian, but didn’t actually understand the content of this video. The presenter was not giving us an information video, he was talking about how Nikon has got the design and the build quality of the Zf near to perfection. At the same time, he was talking about how other manufacturers have a variety of models and maybe could use some of the ideas from the Zf on their future models.
