Not gonna lie. I teared up a bit watching the Barret-Dyne scene in the trailer. It never made me cry in the OG but I always knew a 3D remake could make this scene really powerful and punchy. Also... it hits differently when you watch it as an adult, probably a parent. I really hope Dyne survives this time 😔 Shinra f*cked him up bad... he deserves to live. This time, there will be a doctor in Corel Prison (Doctor Sheiran), maybe Barret will manage to catch Dyne and leave him at the doctor's. The Barret-Dyne and Nanaki-Seto scenes are probably the two I'm looking forward to the most in the whole game :) the hype is real, man!

The hype is truly real! And yea...Dyne and Barret's story was incredibly sad even in the OG, but fully realized with these visuals and voice acting? It's gonna destroy us Q_Q like so many other scenes... But I can't wait to be hurt lol. I can't wait for this game!

09:50 Biggs is actually in bed at the orphanage, not Aerith's. Seen at the ending of Remake. 12:55 You can see the Junon Canon in the back, so I'm guessing we get it before. 13:27 it's Bahamut Arisen; pretty much Neo redone. 15:35 It's assumed this is VR, Jessie did work at the Golden Saucer prior to AVALANCHE, so it's likely a recording. 19:50 We stan Clerith! I'm guessing the dates will have different feels to it, same as OG and similar to the Resolution scenes in Remake. 22:20 Aerith was hauled off on a stretcher along with Tifa, Barret, and Red.. so she had to have been in the area when the whisper-y tornadoes hit Midgar. Just unsure on how she got back to her residence and why Shinra didn't keep her when she had a bounty on her.

That's...exactly right about Biggs! I misremembered, and you're right, he's at the orphanage! Yea, given that we see Junon in the back, I'm guessing we get it before - but they could always be playing tricks on us, or have back tracked so they're not showing it off in a "new" area! And yea, I thought Bahamut Arisen was a name for Neo. SO SICK!!!!

Jessie is from the Golden Saucer VR. I read it in the Square Enix website. She used to be an actress at GS, that's why the GS have her VR dancing. 😢

​@@Xeromessiah It's almost 2024. The cultural sensibilities changed a lot in those 25 years. They will 100% tone it down (especially because, let's be honest, he was verbally and mentally abusive to Sheera in the OG). I just hope they won't cut it out completely. You CAN still make a character a douchbag and likeable at the same time. Especially that Cid has an arc in the game where his character grows. Same with his smoking habit. They might tone it down a bit. But we ALL want him to smoke in some capacity. It's a part of his character.

@@matthagen67 Completely agree. I think they'll still have some of the intensity with that and some of the other scenes - but they don't have to make it as harsh/edgy anymore. Storytelling and nuance have come a loooong way. And that's a good thing! This remake has been so incredible because they've brought it into the current day and refined it a bit.

This next FF7 Rebirth trailer was just SO EXCITING!!! We finally saw CID and he looks and sounds awesome! We saw Barret's old buddy Dyne too and he looks cool too! However despite what Marlene just said don't jump to conclusions yet cause her getting killed might still not happen hopefully. Also I still ship Cloud & Tifa and we WILL still have that option to try and make that happen. That singing is very pretty too. Anyway I am SO looking forward to this game!😁✊🏿

I agree! With the alter-timeline, who knows what's going on there or what little Marlene meant or how things will unfold! It's honestly intriguing. And yes, the song was absolutely beautiful - I'm sure we'll get the choice of dates for the saucer, which will be fun. And, I am firmly in the camp that the death will happen. There are a millions reasons why it might not, but I do believe it's an integral part that has to happen. We'll find out soon!!

I could be wrong, but i honestly don't believe the "zack timeline" theory. I will be just as happy if that's the case, but i honestly believe he's in the lifestream but doesn't know it and his soul is finding its way back to aerith(similar to elmyra's husband). And i believe marlene is able to see and talk to zack because aerith used her powers on her. After all, the scene where marlene talks to zack and the scene where zack is standing over aerith in the bed seem to be the same scene because you can still see cloud in the background when zack is over aerith

That could potentially be a really cool and kinda sad twist - but I think the ultimania guide and information from Kitase and others have pretty much established that he does have a timeline (and many of us thought this was the case while people said we were crazy for even thinking it.) Of course, they could be tricking us! We'll have to see soon :)

If the dancing Jessie is on Zack's timeline, and the Zack + Biggs scene is on the same timeline ... then either the tornado happened only after the Gold Saucer scenes, or ... the X mark on the poster does not mean death. ... or yet, there is a 3rd timeline 😅

It could be they were captured in the previous trailer we saw, and now Zack is talking to Biggs a bit later....and if Jessie managed to somehow get away or is presumed "dead" by Shinra.... So many questions/possibilities! lol

@@Xeromessiah , so I was rewatching the trailer and noticed something, that the part where Jessie was dancing may/could actually not be on that same scene where Aerith sings. They could have just inserted and edited it on that part for the song trailer. Thus, it is possible that the Aerith song part is on the normal timeline, part of the the play they had. Then the Jessie scene might be on the other timeline, which we don't know how. Haha, just a possibility :)

@@daboyax Oh yea, I had to remove a bit of my discussion from Twitch about this scene and others because of how long the video was getting, but this cut is very similar to Marvel movies (Infinity war especially) where the trailer makes it "seem" like they're the same scene, but they're not. The people on stage/lighting/tempo of dance shows it's definitely 2 different scenes, which is why I'm pretty sure Jesse's part is happening in Zack's timeline or something like that.

How's jessie alive in Cloud's & Aerith present time-line if she died? I would understand if she'd be alive in Zack's timeline. But then again Zack's speaking with Biggs in the time line where the rest of the crew is dead... and Cloud is there in a wheel chair. This is going to be so confusing...

11:40 Canonically everyone in the party liked Aerith a lot. There being so little inter-party dialogue has always been og's biggest weakness imo (there are main playable characters that never exhange a single line with each other for god's sake). One that Remake made great strides in fixing. What I'm not sure about is if this is their first time meeting Cid. Obviously by this point he knows that the party doesn't exactly like Shinra (at least partially why he wants to help, after all he has a bone to pick with them too) but that doesn't answer why he's addressing Aerith specifically. Guess we'll have to see. Oh and og Cid isn't really *that* mean. Sure he's jaded and crass but most of his abuse is towards and in vicinity of Shera only. Which to be clear is not okay but him being nicer to others isn't necessarily ooc.

That's a super good point. Being able to redo the dialogue lets them create more party interplay, and just makes them feel like true traveling companions/party members. Plus the Remake handled their personalities perfectly, and I can't wait to see it increase in Rebirth! And yup - I think when we say he's "mean" we more mean he's incredibly gruff. He's downright mean to his assistant, but he just is very harsh/brash speaking a lot of the time, but we know he's a good guy!

The game is called rebirth, so that might be the theme of the whole game. We should keep that in mind. And i think that Square is showing us alot of red herrings in that trailer. For example that jessie bit. Why would they exactly show us Jessie there, and later explain in an article that it is VR technology. Why would they basically confirm that and bring this to the table? I mean yeah, im very sure that this particular shot is just a vr recording from her, but that doesnt mean anything in the end. And this is just an example, there are a ton of other unanswered questions, and this makes everything so exciting.

Completely, completely agree. Crazy thing about the "Remake" saga if we can call it that - the interviews/comments from all the major devs involved show they completely love 7 and get why a lot of us fans love it. Many of them grew up with the game and now have a chance to work on it. And they know that in this current day, misleading us/giving hints but now revealing the whole hand is the best way to get us hyped and talking about it. I really can't wait for Rebirth Q_Q

Very much so. When Remake 2020 was coming out, I didn't see the need to push it on people as older school graphics/turn based in the way OG 7 was isn't for everyone. But with Rebirth coming out and being one of the most pivotal parts of the whole story - this is the perfect time to get all the knowledge of the og game. It just makes the new games that much more incredible.
