Maybe it helps - yes, that may happen at anytime. There's no defined or specific timeline. My wife died in 2014. Since then I had 4 relationships - all of them broke up with me for partly silly reasons. And all of them at least tried to get in contact from months to years later. It seems to be true: in the moment you honestly don't care anymore, they show up in some indirect ways...
