Notice how they all went out roughly the same way they were beaten in the series: Recoome- a hit to the gut Zarbon- insides "rearanged" Raditz- a blast to the chest Dodoria- hit in the face with a "blast" Guldo- a hit from behind at his head Frieza- hit with his own attack Cell- got hit, came back, then went down for real PS: I also love how they properly showed the differences between Cell and Frieza's brand of evil Frieza is the short term evil, the kind that will snap at anyone over the tiniest threat to their ego Meanwhile Cell plays the long game. He COULD expose Frieza for dying to Vegeta's son , not even Vegeta himself. But, ultimately, what would that get him? Proof of of something he alredy knows,that he's the biggest villain in the room? To diagrace someone in what is alredy Hell? Nah, instead, Cell decided to play ball and suck it up till he can get out of HFIL the long , but sure way

Funny enough, Dodoria missing Raditz was a very subtle reference to the old Ocean Dub of DBZ. Remember back when Dodoria killed Dende’s brother? Well death wasn’t allowed in the Ocean Dub, due to being targeted at children, so they changed it to him firing at someone & just missed. Gotta love censorship.

i think the rules here were: hit the player, they are out. if they catch the ball, the catcher isn't out but the captain can bring an out player back into the game, the first catch nobody was out yet. I think the ball still counts until it hits the ground on the opponent's side and Cell might've gotten hit after the ball bounced from Frieza's side. Or something like this.

Fun Fact, whenever they get hit by the ball they mimic their deaths in DBZ/DBZA: 1. Recoome when he got hit in the gut same way he got punched on the stomach by Goku before getting offed by Vegeta. 6:30 2. Raditz when he got hit the same way he got killed by the Special Beam Cannon from Piccolo. 7:50 3. Dadoria engulf in a blast similar to him (her) getting killed by Vegeta. 7:57 4. Guldo getting hit on the head similar to his decapitation by Vegeta. 8:57

Actually I think it's that He's forcing Frieza to live a lie. No one else knows that Frieza wasn't killed by Goku, but by Trunks. Not even by Vegeta, but by his offspring. If anyone found out, he'd be a a joke. But by Cell not telling anyone, Frieza has to continue to keep it a secret. In other words, pretending to be someone he isn't.

I mean the Ginyu Force seem like they are genuinely half-decent guys who wound up working for a genocidal maniac. Cell seems to be slowly losing the "evil" edge he had in life and is kind of beginning to realize there's more to do than just killing people. Also Cell did meet his primary programming, he DID kill Son Goku, so mission failed successfully? I legit think TFS Cell actually has a chance of rehabilitation, namely because in his perfect form, he's more of a meme lord than a genocidal maniac. And whilst in life he did want to destroy Earth, I think that was more to force the Dragon team and by extension, Goku, into fighting him.

(His power is he can freeze time as long as he holds his breath, and telekinesis/paralysis... some OP stuff if he makes the first move, hes just physically vulnerable but his powers are basically the prototype for Hit in DB super.

There is a huge thing about what Cell is doing. Freiza said that he will not live a lie, that he will always be true to himself. He knows he's a baby killing, planet destroying piece of shit and will not change... but now he is obviously living a lie. People believe he was killed by Goku. He was really killed by Trunks. Cell knows it, Frieza now knows it and well, he is now forced to live a lie, or swallow his pride and admit it was Vegeta's little boy who killed him. It is destroying him mentally.

For a little bit of clarification, Scott Frerichs (Writer, Director, and voice of Trunks/Burter) stated that all of the energy blast type moves were purely visual representation, since they can't use their own Ki down here. Guldo was apologizing because he straight-up took a dive during the match. Fun Fact reminder: In the ad, Jesse there is Jesse Nowack, the voice of Seras Victoria. This is a personal note, but I am so happy for him, as he seems to be doing much better these days.

I mean, every single rule used has been defended people in comments saying "yeah, that's common". It's just, not everyone played by the same rules growing up. I personally remember catching being "thrower is out" too, but I didn't even notice when Cell caught Recoome's throw, simply because they didn't draw attention to it. Catching meaning the team gets a player back in makes sense, too. Instead of taking the other side down one, you go *up* one, unless no one's gone out yet. Also, I generally assumed the "anyone hit by the ball before it touches the ground etc" was just anime-style over-explaining obvious rules. "Pot of Greed lets me draw two cards!" etc etc. You get hit by the ball and don't grab it before it touches the ground, you're out. (I've personally never heard of a rule where getting hit after a bounce doesn't knock you out, but who knows; it may or may not be in play here, several people have claimed Freeza's feint bounces on his own side of the court before slamming Cell in the jaw.)

I can assume Volkerball although is technically dodgeball it isn’t ENTIRELY dodgeball. Sports take different takes in various areas. Except Soccer. Then the rules are completely global. Or any Olympic events. Man it’s good to see these voiced by the DBZA guys again. Was Burter’s voice being more out of it than usual an ocean dub joke or something or just because he’s a bit out of practice with that voice? (Which if it’s the latter that’s understandable.) The tribute at the beginning was for a funimation guy basically and the most recent voice of Freeza if I recall. I wish I knew more details here but maybe someone can help fill in more blanks. It was not Lil-Kuriboh who voices Freeza for DBZA who I initially thought was who you were talking about. He’s in as good voice shape as ever when he’s comfortable. This is weird making a lengthy comment like this. It feels…strange. But I guess I’ll have to go balls to the wall.

The way he said it, it assumes that Frieza already knew that, Trunks was time traveler, which makes no sense. Trunks didn't said frieza anything other than, he's a Saiyan, And Trunks only revealed he's true identity when Goku finally come back to Earth. Even Dr. Gero nevel learned that Trunks is from the Future eiter. So Cell should be the only Villain in HFIL that know, Trunk is from Future.
