The problem with these types of characters is that it makes no sense even for such a fictional world. How couldnt you guess that your at least above average in power? When I notice that i immediately drop the story im reading. I like characters that acknowledge their strenght, that have a more down to earth view on things. For those who haven't played the Dark Souls games, specifically 2 and 3, the FUGS, or Fume Ultra Greatsword is a massive two-handed sword that looks like a gigantic, crudely forged hunk of iron. Also kinda shares similarities with Demon's Souls' Keel Bone Smasher.
