You DID win the library sale, lol. I read & loved a ton of the pre-2000 kids' books you found, but far and away my favorite series was Pony Pals. Excited to see them find a new audience. Mandy is also great; what kid doesn't love to imagine their very own little cottage in which to play house. And I really liked Faith, Hope & Ivy June as an adult reader. As for the actual adult books...also really liked Run Rose Run, which is kind of like a country-music fairytale, with the Dolly Parton stand-in serving as fairy godmother, but with a Really Dark Past.

another great book haul!! That Quilter's series ( Jennifer Chiavarini ) has quite a few books in it... haven't read yet, but have been slowly picking them up as well. I just picked up The Moonglow Sisters by Lori Wilde, enjoying it so far!

I really liked the Abram's Daughter series by Beverly Lewis, even though I wasn't a fan of her other series I tried. I would really encourage you to go ahead and find the first book in the series. I couldn't put them down. They were the "OG" of the Amish romances and very well done. Very fun video!!

Great book haul! I really liked Saving CeeCee Honeycutt. When I see multiple copies at book sales I assume it was a good book because so many people bought it 🙂 I just read the first in the Miss Julia series and it was good.

I reed walk two moons when I was 7. I loved it but I was too young. I loved the phoebe parts but I didn’t understand the bigger message. I recently reread it a few months ago and I’m like… what was I reading as a kid??

Esio Trot is tortoise spelled backwards. (I thought I’d mention that just in case you hadn’t noticed.) I feel like Roald Dahl is an author parents should read beforehand. You just never know what you’re going to encounter in his books. $5 for each Horrible Harry book is such a rip-off. You can find those at Half Price for about $2. I loved the Anastasia books when I was a kid. I reread book 1 a few years ago and it certainly felt dated. There’s one book in the series that briefly mentions Anastasia’s dad reads nudie magazines. 🤦🏻‍♀️

Mothers and other liars sounds great! But I’m nervous because in these stories, I never want the kid to lose the family that raised them if they not bad people. So I’m not always happy with how these turn out.

I loved Amber brown but I think the ones you have to worry about are her parents! Their relationship is volatile and I don’t blame her a bit for being snotty! Your kids will start worrying about you getting a divorce!! I may reread these and do a video on it! I think it helps kids whose parents are divorced feel seen and I can believe there is a place for these parents who don’t handle it well in children’s lit. It can help kids whose parents are also like this feel seen. But it could give an average kid in a functional family anxiety!

I do think they could help kids with divorced parents who hate each other. I get it’s not something you’d necessarily want your kids reading and it’s not the picture of divorce you’d want to depict but I’m glad these books exist because most divorced parents I know are exactly like these parents. And I think it’s realistic and kids could probably identify. So I don’t wanna say that they are bad books. But they too real for parents who are together and their kids are well adjusted. Unless you like high drama like I did as a kid!
