Bill Walton did not want to be labeled as a 7 footer either. He was always listed as 6`11. But on the team photo in 1986 (Celtics) you can clearly see he is taller, or at least as tall, as Robert Parish who is listed at 7`1. I am not sure of the motivation.

Im not sure why he thinks that power forwards have to be taller than 6'9." Barkley was a power forward and he was 6'4". Rodman was 6'7". So was Larry Johnson. Magic Johnson was a 6'9" point guard. Bird was 6'9" and listed as a SMALL forward. I think he just doesnt want to be listed as the greatest center to play the game. Maybe he doesnt want that title for some reason. Who knows?
