The only reason the point margin between the two is so big is because Norris always gets the favoured strategy and the team orders. The only thing Norris is better in than piastri is tyre management and you only gain that with experience. So next year piastri is gonna give lando a run for his money. He is also way more calm under pressure than lando

@ just look at the data. Norris is on average just 0.009 seconds faster than him. Without team orders piastri would also have 20 more points and lando 20 less points. Piastri is a way better strategist than lando. The only thing lando has is that he is quick that’s literally it. So to answer you, yes Norris is in his 6th year and not Piastri but Norris for the 1st time has a good car after 5 years. Piastri after 1, ofc Piastri seems like he is better and faster because he has better results earlier in his career. Both are really good drivers and, as Lando fan, I could see a really good rivalry between these 2 in 1 or 2 years. Fighting for the lead and to be considered the main driver. Piastri is really good, there is no denying in that, let's just see where he can be in the future

These last races for Oscar have been dreadful. Like, all year, you could see that Lando was the n°1, and Oscar was allowed to race only when Lando flopped, but from Singapore to Brazil, it has been dreadful. And to add salt to the injury, this has been done for nothing, Lando will not win the WDC, and McLaren are even risking the constructors after basically leaving Oscar on his own and behind to prioritize Lando. Just want to see Oscar smash and humiliate Lando in these last 3 races and next year, he can easily do that already

@invinciblegamer2010 Yeah, but if you basically do the "quali 1-2" where you make one driver do his quali lap immediately after the first one, in dirt air conditions, which is a situation that all the fastest cars since 2014, including Mercedes and Red Bull, struggle to get used to, and you put in dirty air conditions the guy who hates these situations, you are basically dooming his race already, and this situation in the Q3 of quali has happened more than 10 times this season. If you add to the mix, team orders, how the upgrades were given to the drivers, with Oscar doing 3 races with half the upgrades that Lando had, and all the rest, Piastri has been badly limited by McLaren. And this is nothing new to F1, Raikkonen in 2008 was put behind to prioritize Massa, and he ended that season 3 spots behind the brazilian, Schumacher also was forced to play the 2nd driver role to Irvine of all people. Team orders and hierarchy play a massive role in how a season can go, and how freely a driver can perform, and with Oscar, we have seen him perform without limitations, also due to massive errors from Lando, from Hungary to Baku, and in that stretch, he massively outperformed his teammate.

Nah. Oscar’s overtake of LeClerc in Baku is overtake of the year. Lando was screwing up with wheel spin exiting the turns and braked early and didn’t defend. The pass on Charles was clutch as it was against a faster car with only one opportunity having caught up 6 seconds with his aggressive tyre setting laps after he pit first and Charles tyres not up to temp yet. Oscar launched from waaaay back and made the turn with basically no margin for error and he was going against the pit wall call to wait but if he had LeClerc’s tyres would have been warmed up over the next lap and the overtake would never had happened.

He might not express much in front of the cameras but he's got that conniving "no prisoners" streak in him a little bit like what Prost, Schumacher and Alonso had - just more subtle. It's a shame he's been brow beaten by everyone (including his team) into submitting.

Piastri is closer to Verstappen in skill and hunger than Norris, and it's only his second year, and has plenty of time to develop. If McLaren ever puts Piastri at number 1 driver, not only will he compete, but I also don't believe he'll allow himself to be pushed around by Verstappen like the rest of the grid.

I hope Lando isn't completely prioritized and given preferential treatment in terms of car setup and development next year. Every time Oscar has struggled this year it's because he's either been given Lando's setup (it's almost like a default or baseline setup) or they've done some changes to the car (even when they haven't upgraded it), and then Oscar has to work backwards to get back to a setup he's comfortable with, even if it's not necessarily the fastest setup. Right now McLaren is being engineered towards Lando's preferences and driving style. As per Lando's admission: "Oscar drives very differently to me". I hope Oscar starts busting some balls next year to get a car that suits his driving style.

Listen Lando is obviously not got enough to win a DWC and he never will be. But how can you say that Oscar has never helped Lando with the exception of Brazilian Grand Prix that’s it. I don't agree with the overall sentiment that Piastri has been hard done by tbh, the fact is Lando has been just quicker and more consistent throughout the season. Lando was quite significantly up in points at mid season and McLaren saw a glimpse of the WDC so they had to prioritise lando, it really is as simple as that, there's nothing deeper going on. I'm absolutely confident that it would have been the same the other way round. And, I'm confident next season Piastri will put up a much better fight.

Experienced? Yes. Better driver? No, not really. They're about the same level of "talent" or skill. Piastri has had a clear better season with fighting against rivals and coming out on top. Lando either maintains the lead and stays with it or absolutely bottles at least half of his 1st place starts and goes down to 6. Piastri is far more consistent, level headed, and quick.

Piastri is a more aggressive than Lando and that's why he can win fights than Lando wouldn't, I agree. But if he was a better driver, he should be ahead of Norris in terms of points because they have the same car. Maybe Oscar will be better in a couple of years, maybe not. Only time will tell but right now, Lando is (maybe slightly) better than him.
