Don't see McLaren tipping off F1/FIA/SkySports/etc. It's just bog standard British bias from the media and F1/FIA trying to get a new WDC winner so that the sport looks more competitive and appealing for those that don't follow the sport. Don't see any other conspiracy theory and the same can be said for 2021. British bias from media and F1/FIA rigging the season to get a new winner. As for teams cheating, that is obvious and happens in every sport. For instance that RedBull drop off in pace is a clear indication they were caught cheating and told to revert to a compliant spec. Now F1/FIA understand that unless if there is an external whistle-blower like the whole Spygate and Crashgate incidents, it is best to avoid punishment. If RedBull were to get punished it would destroy the entire integrity of the sport in the eyes not only the fans but also outsiders and would force the media to pile on. It's better to avoid punishing the cheating teams for that reason otherwise it would be a case of stripping RedBull of their 2023 WCC title and then give it to the runner up, then RedBull go digging and find dirt on the runner up and they are stripped, etc. You could also do it this year with RedBull and then McLaren with the rear wing mini DRS, etc. Same will happen with Man City with their 115 charges. It stretches a decade and they will most likely avoid any actual punishment unless if we have a whistle-blower incident that forces the PL/FA's hand.

That still leaves the matter of much to penaltise. I thought 2x10 seconds in Mexico was at least 5 too much. And then there were the early leavers in Brazil getting but a small fine. And the long delayed red flag during Brazil Q was just weird. I also find it odd that some construction violations seem to have been quietly be resolved. Remember Ferrari's alleged oil line trick? After that came out they were slower. McLaren's alleged DRS slot trick. Afterwards they were a little slower. Leclerc swore too, no community service. That being said, it might be more like Max having a reputation for sometimes going too far. Which I find unfortunate because more often than not he shoots himself in the foot.
