THEY TRIED TO SILENCE ME (solo female van life)

They tried to silence me, but I refuse to be silenced! I travel solo in my van and share my experiences - the good, the bad, the ugly. I guess some people only want the glossy, glamorized version of van life, so if that's you, you might want to click off and find someone else. I'm authentic, real, and vulnerable. Sometimes I cry. I'm overweight. I'm getting older. I'm growing my silver strands out. I have problems. I have insecurities. I have anxiety. But ....BUT. I also have a lot of goodness in me. Positivity. Intelligence. Ambition. Heart. Compassion. Love. Mentor. I'm a strong independent woman! I'm not ashamed to say what my positive features are and neither should you!

I started following you about 3 years ago because your stories gave me freedom from my mundane days and helped me dream of adventure. Through watching your stories I fell in love with Lily, your appreciation of nature, the way you love and honor your friendships, how smart you are and how you navigate problems and solve them. I admire that you started a business and teach others how to live this life. Your size and hair are just the way you were made by your creator. Why do people think they need to judge other by their size, shape, hair, skin color or who they love? It boggles my mind. Them judging you has more to do about them and their flaws than you. I lost my best friend almost 20 years ago to cancer and I still mourn her loss. No one can tell you how to grieve your losses or childhood abuses. You go on and live your best life and let the haters' comments fade away. You are special to so many people and celebrated by your true followers/friends.

I had a horrendous childhood. I made it through it. I’m old now but still try to forget the in forgettable. Some things we just take with us to the grave unless we know how to unload the baggage. My little dog died on memorial day weekend. He was the companion who gave me the most joy!

Your authenticity, caring spirit and kindness come back to you in spades -- a great lesson I learned when I went through cancer without a partner a few years ago. Folks came out of the woodwork to help me -- and touched me so much. I also suffered from childhood trauma -- but it also gave me some gifts, as well as struggles. It's a good thing it didn't happen. I'm keeping the van for now. I wanted more space and the vehicle to explore in and leave the trailer, but at this point, I think there's just way too much sacrifice. I've gotten accustomed to being able to leave quickly, park anywhere, and I'm not ready to give that up I guess. I mean I would have made the trailer work for sure, but yes, it would have been more challenging. I'm okay with that though.

@@AmberJBaldwin Sometimes you just need to "change it up"! BTW, it was just on the news tonight the State of Florida has filed two new complaints against Carvana. Didn't detail the counts, but said one complaint had twenty-five counts of wrong-doing, one has eight counts. Carvana has repeatedly failed to provide titles to new owners within State law of thirty days, some people have had to wait TWO-HUNDRED DAYS.

We are each unique and appearance is just one aspect - and one that hurts. Amber, you cannot control others opinions. What you can control is the ability to say to yourself, 'They are the people ith the problem, Mine are mine and theirs are theirs." Remember that some really enjoy knowing that they strike a nerve. Delete those comments, celebrate you and forget them. You do not really know them so ... Let them go... Oddly, I made the previous comment before I finished the video. I truly believe the 'theys' in the world are jealous, unhappy, and critical of themselves so they lash out. Celebration is a choice. Being negative is a choice. I have decided to make my choice.

I am surrounded by people who tolerate me and are NOT supportive of my current direction to become a vanlifer ... or anything I do. Most people that try to silence others are challenged by the fact that they cannot speak their own truth. THEY live in a world of judgement and intolerance AND they allow it. I want to shake these souless bodies out of the spaces and people they poison and invade. When I lived in Washington we did a family camping trip to the Oregon coast and went as far south as Tillamook and the nearby light house. Good for YOU 🙂! When I started my channel I made a conscious decision not to tell any friends or family and this has served me well. I have no judgment from the people that are closest to me, which I feel would hinder my ability to thrive with this journey. On a lighter note, I embraced my gray hair for a year and a half and it actually taught me a lot about myself and others.
