A buddy from High School, who is blind, turned me on to audiobooks..and I am SO happy that he did! I would much rather listen to a well read audiobook or audio story than watch a movie where everything is presented for me on "the screen'. I would much rather use my mind to create the characters and scenes than the characters and scenes of what another man has imagined and displayed on a screen.

First few minutes grabbed me! Watching a story actually dilutes the intensity of your reaction! Listening is such a rush! Our minds pick better actors and can do a better job of directing! 👍

Now I'm picturing a really demented Far Side type comic of a charming wasp lady in bright pink lipstick that only wants to help you evolve, but she's doing it wrong.

Absolutely can't stand the reader for these stories. He sounds like a robot.

A definite student of the shatneresque monologue school of narration.

This narrator is Gregg Margarite,a wonderful guy famous for his thousands of hours of 100% volunteer narrations on Libravox, a free audiobook platform. He as a style, that’s for sure, and had a huge base.Gregg very suddenly died sudden heart attack on 23 March 2012. Both he and his future narrations will be sorely missed by his fans. He’s absolutely not for everyone but once the ear gets used to his style, the strange inflections are tuned out by the brain. He was actually a paid narrator besides his amazing volunteerism and selected by casting directors for his style rather than in spite of it.

@@andersdroid Doesn't matter. Still can't stand his narration style.

@@Eidolon1andOnly I absolutely get that. He’s not for everyone. Lots of people make fun of Shatner in tos too.
