Just when I want to quit the lawn care business (again), I see your videos and it inspires me to want to keep going, but at the age of 50, and some recently diagnosed health issues, I’m not sure if I would ever be able to grow enough to be financially secure. I do know I’ll die trying though. 😊 Thanks for being the person you are Brian! I as well as thousands of other folks appreciate you and what you do for the community! Massachusetts here!

Dang I'm doing something wrong. 1 mower one man and I cut 28 places a week. I decided not to raise prices this year for most of my clients are elderly and inflation has made things terribly hard for them.

i could buy a sub compact tractor I only have deere and massey ferguson dealer nearby. i have used massey ferguson before they helped to build a garden tractor and it still runs.

@@BriansLawnMaintenance it's an interesting tractor simplicity asked messey ferguson and agco to make a heavy-duty garden tractors. my grandfather bought one in 03 it is 20hp with hydro the model is 1694025. I don't remember all of the attachments, but you can put a bucket loader on it. the model he had was 1 model below a sub-compact tractor. Super heavy can barely move it even when its in neutral. you cant tell that is a simplicity tractor because all you see is agco on the side but the steering wheel has the simplicity logo on it. it still runs great my uncle took it to his house. it is the best garden tractor I have ever used. so I do my best to keep it running so maybe I can take it one day.

we do have car washes in Michigan to clean things.

Hahah, man I wish! No coin wash ones around us, and the only one that does exist here you cannot fit any sized trailer through the wash bays, too small! Smh.

@@BriansLawnMaintenance ones on east side can fit trailers. You see Spencer Lawn care always cleaning his equipment on KZbin. Maybe Northville, Plymouth, Canton and other cities need car washes.

It has been almost impossible to fail for the last 4 years with the massive influx of illegal aliens, there is a bottomless well of labor for business in the USA. The winds are shifting however, a lot of "business" people are going to find out about the difficult side of things.
@MB12116 Жыл бұрын
I don’t understand the margins in your business. If you spend about 30 minutes per yard and make $90 per yard, that’s about $1260 per day of gross revenue. Assuming that you pay about $18 per guy per hour that equates to about $504 per day, which I hope is less than what you pay for labor. That means that there is less than $1000 per day for profit, insurance, marketing, fuel, materials (blades, parts, etc), equipment, taxes, and payments. Yet, you have a Tesla, are building a new home, and constantly travel. I used to mow lawns when I was in middle/ high school and it was a good gig…I made about 17k and was able to monetize my friends and evade paying taxes, but I had virtually no expenses. However, I no longer do lawn mowing and just came across this video and your channel again, and can’t understand who is subsidizing you, and how you expect your business model to work long term. I think you are a prime example of a tiny ceo, that should really be focused on less glory and more strategy.
@jaydenayala201 Жыл бұрын
Commercial pays big money, it’s very hard in my opinion to make out with just a mowing service. Brian seems to diversify himself with the mulching jobs those offer different margins for growth.
@BriansLawnMaintenance Жыл бұрын
Damn. That’s a wild comment. Seems a little more accusatory than inquiring, but that’s okay. Respectfully I’m not here to share my daily numbers and every minute detail, although I believe I’ve shared more publicly about what we make then any single person I know on social media, change my mind. (Albeit we share that mostly on our podcast, to be fair). The Tesla was from me saving up from our social media earnings over 5.5 almost 6 years. We’ve shared that publicly as well. Not sure what else you want me to tell you. Mowing accounts for around $20k-$25k of our monthly revenue. That’s hardly half to a third of what we produce in gross revenue. The rest is landscaping, snow and salt. Hope that helps! God bless. Edit: also, please note we’ve been working towards being debt free (2019), been saving for 4 years towards the home and then some :)
