Awww man, you triggered my Real Estate PTSD with this one. I closed a listing referral from an agent in Texas in April. The sellers were relocating from here in my area in Alabama to Austin Texas. I did the same thing that you did, I cut my fees left and right to make the deal go through. Long story short, my takeaway is that I will not work with any seller that tells me, “We don’t HAVE to sell.” Ok, well, Mr. & Mrs. Nutjob, my services are reserved for people that NEED them. When you decide to get serious, THEN feel free to give me a call. IF, I’m accepting new clients at that time, I’ll determine if we are a good fit for one another.

It’s sad how bad the industry has gotten, people want to sue agents and real estate companies now a days for any reason just to try and get a check. At the end of the day it cost money to defend yourself in court so most just settle.

I just experienced something like this this morning! Had me in a funk, but I recovered! My client had me hire a photographer, list her property, do an open house, and only had it on the market 8 days and abruptly decided NOT to sell after all!!!! Her listing was removed, (same day), but not as fast as she wanted and she "lectured" me on how the process should work since she has sold 2 previous homes! I went into the system to ensure that it said CANCELLED, only to see the words FORECLOSURE on the right side of the screen! #iamdead

I had a rental lead from realtor.com. The guy from out of state wanted me to pick him up from the airport and drive him around to see 15 different properties. That would be nearly 200 miles round trip of miles on my car! He told me well that's my job I got 30 other agents from the area! I told him my job is to sell you a house. How about getting pre-qualified through a lender? He juggled the idea for a few days but still demanded that I drive him around to look at these rentals and learn about the area. I released him back and blocked his number. Lol your story is still more crazy then mine!

I'm just getting into RE and coming from a long, long career as a licensed nurse. It must be the same in any job that involves the public. I had many patients for whom I bent over backwards and still they were unhappy. Many times it really is some other issue in their lives that affect them in these negative ways. Often people want you to solve problems for them that are totally unrelated to the task at hand. All you can do is the best you can and move on. So having already experienced lots of personalities with behavior issues.;. I believe I'll be ready for the odd balls, having had many already. Lol.

You did better then good. You had to bite your tongue and ended up getting to transactions out of the deal although they were discounted a bunch. I've been in a similar situation so i commend you for your good work. It's very frustrating when you ensure great service all around, and people want discounts and then leave horrible reviews. I’m a realtor I’m experiencing the worst nightmare my first transaction after three months of getting licensed my buyers and the seller are old narcissistic people my buyers expect my seller to basically pay for all repairs and my seller doesn’t want to do any repair no matter what I do my buyers are never happy with me and with seller we are on escrow right now finally buyers said yes for repairs they still want seller to repair like four things that cost less than 200 bucks crazy people!!!! Seller doesn’t help tooo old lady she barely know what she does lol no offense to old people I’ve thought about quitting real estate

As soon as I know they won't be my future client, mostly by my choice I am done giving handouts. Nada! And never discount yourself. That first agent sounds like he referred him to you because he knew they were nuts. I can't imagine he did not already know an agent in your area. Very unlikely.
