Ths earthquake s i lived there in a town called palmdale. I hate them they r scary i loved the beaches been at two of them vince and vantura beach. Mountains r pretty when they r dusted with snow i lived there from 85 to 91 my son was born in calif at the hospital in lancaster calif not far from Palmdale in 1985 but 6 yrs there was long enought movied back. Lake Superior is freezing too. It’s so cold that finding bacteria is rare. It is not for swimming that is for sure! Just beautiful to look at or boat rides. I love watching the boats, ships, and barges 😍.

My boyfriend was a truck driver, but he didn't like going any further West than texas. But once he happened to get a load all the way from Newfoundland to Sacramento CA. Paying over 10k. It was in Feb way up in those mountains w/snowstorm scary! When we got to lake Tahoe, I needed to regroup..it was the most majestic, breathtaking, extraordinarily place I've ever experienced! My dream is to travel and that is on my bucket list! Stay safe on your journeys God Bless

The wall is to separate the boats from the people swimming plus it also let's the kids know how far out that they can go or that's what I'm assuming because at Barren River in KY they have rope floating on top of the water to keep the kids out of the way from the boats & to know how far they can go out.

We used to live in Sacramento and visit lake Tahoe alot in the early 80's. There were no charge for the beaches then! We came that same year 81 for Christmas and stayed in a beautiful chalet in the woods with my sister and her husband and my mom. The snow was beautiful.. just a wonderful time

This Texas gulf coast guy here thinks so much like you. Tge whole Christmas tree and palm tree stuff. Those "can't believe I'm in such a beautiful place" thoughts. Our way cheaper gas prices and free beaches. I definitely enjoy this. Love it.

That's when it's time to go visit my old friends in Cali! 😎 Lake Tahoe is a special place and beautiful no matter what time of year. Saw Elvis there in his early prime at a dinner theatre show where we were right next to the stage. I'll never forget it! I'm 59 so we're not far apart in age. Wow! I grew up in so California. Left in 1980. Traffic was horrible even then. But, yes it’s beautiful. What I loved was at any time you can go to the beach, water ski, snow sink boating, dune buggies ect…. Oceans, mountains, deserts …..Everything was just a few hours away. ENJOY

You wait til you get to Oregon. I visited friends in Vancouver, Washington by Portland. The trees there are really HUGE! I guess because of the rain. My mom had Rhododendron in VA, but in Oregon, that's the state flower and they were as big as the houses! Beautiful!!!
