He's not 100% wrong. A ship at sea is GENERALLY safer that in port during a storm, as they can maneuver to calmer waters. However, a boat at anchor is NOT a safe place to be.

@@benney7520I'd say he was blessed since he stated ahead of time that it was his faith that had him staying put in his boat. Anywhere else he had sought shelter had an equal chance to have been hit by a tornado or flodded out during the storm. Eben the first responders who had staged in Tropical Stadium had to relocate North to Ocala before the storm hit because they predicted it wouldn't be safe. This LT. Dan apparently chose his location wisely.
