I love how you're so intentional about how to achieve victory in these tough battles (and being able to communicate it). I often get caught up in the intended way I wanted to play a certain army and I don't see these sorts of opportunities to adapt to a different situation. It's great getting to see your whole thought process and how it plays out in the battle.

I recently had this problem. Firstly, if you dont kill the warpfire or catapelt or queek, they legit heal 50 percent of their health in one turn. Secondly, if they have catapelt it MELTS your frontline. And the problem is that your arty cant snipe it even if you outnumber them, because menace below stops you from doing that. Thirdly, queek can legit 1vs5 your heros, and since you are packed so tightly, you cant really sniped the dude. Its really rough.

This is why you absolutely need to have fliers and good gyrocopter micro to make the most of a dwarf army. It isn't even funny how important it is. Gyros let you erase artillery, and trollhammer gyros delete terrifying lords as well, not just large SEMs. Queek being that dangerous in combat is less of a problem when you kill/rout/take off 80% of his health before he touches any of your characters.

Legend !! Ive found a new way to play the Sisters of Twilight , at turn 10 the wild roots open , send The sisters to Ulthuan, join wars for the main factions , clear the enemies of Averlon, clear Slanesh, as you go sell all settlements back to whichever elf faction is closest, this will speed up your wealth generation. Back home rush to get a tree man with branchwraiths and as many tree kin/dryads so instead of turtling you go forth and create mayhem in ulthuan ,take on any and all elf enemies and with a simple archer/ eagle riders stack ,sisters will rank up uber quickly. RGN will be different each game for enemies at home but nothing will impact too much till after you do the Forest rebirth. Its intense and great fun...enjoy!

What's the reason though? You get averlorn for free mid-game and Welfs have anything but econ problems (insane post battle loot). Just travel to trees that are contested or focus on Athel Lorn confeds for LLs and more trees. Like, welfs mid game run 10+ armies, a massive deficit with massive money banked. Your units vastly outclass your opponents as you are ahead of the Tier curve due to no growth requirements. Still have to try on the new patch, but I'd imagine that on legendary over VH you get even more money from post-battle loot. Just push every front and recruit a hagbane stack (7 AP vs 4 AP on normal archers) in a single turn, they'll deal with 90% of the armies you come across.

@@EagleScoutmano Hawks got nerfed, magical res got nerfed (so sisters themselves are slightly weaker), post-battle loot got massive buffs and supply lines got massive buffs. Welfs were big winners from 2 to 3, but they didn't specifically get targeted whatsoever.

Queek is SO underrated, He's literally my Second Favorite Skaven Campaign. Very fun to play in a multiplayer campaign. Usually I place Tretch above Queek, for my Skaven Campaigns but he's still solidly fun. Although (Edit), With a grain of salt. He (Queek) desperately along with Tretch and Skrolk need a rework or something added to them to make them unique.

Post buff they are very capable of counter-fire arty smacking and still pretty efficient low entity count unit killers. (I think they can solo any other arty unit and come on top with most machines still online - if not sniped on approach with some huge range) Sadly there simply wasn't much of it to shoot.

@@mateuszk3812 also bolt throwers can be given the rune of burning which makes their shots explode; which turns them into anti infantry. they are arguably the most versatile of the dawi arty now because all of the runes are really good on them. AP penetration: really good, Homing anti large: fantastic, explosive rounds: need I say more, and thats not counting the master level artillery runes or thorek which gives all bolt throwers in his army explosive rounds.

How to say you're here just for memes without saying it: Dwarves being mostly infantry, it makes sense to bring good anti-artillery. Bolt throwers for when the gyros can't get the job done because the enemy's AA is too strong. 2 bolt throwers and 3 gyros might be a bit of an overinvestment, but iron drakes are such good infantry clearer that it doesn't matter so much.

Seems like it would be easy to just retreat from the battle and not fight the garrison at the same time. Retreating is clearly an option. Could also save the formation so taht you can reform without issues after dealing with the menace below.

Yeah thats probably what I would do in this situation. Maybe thanks to ancestors the other army might not atack do lack of of movement. I play with some mods so I can't send save to legend, need to handle everything or accept my weakness (load a save file)

I never understand why people are such big fans of runelords. Sure, rune magic is neat, but you can just as easily get a runesmith and a normal lord and have a great tank and fighter and a decent caster instead of a decent caster and a mediocre tank and fighter

Thanes are also almost as good as a melee lord, so it doesn't really matter. Rune Magic is arguably more useful than a tank in the early game, depending on the neighboring hostile factions.

@@strangestecho5088 I would say that in early game when playing vs skaven, greenskins and vampires (main enemies in a lot of dwarf campaigns) lord is just better. He tanks everything they can throw at you before they get any armour piercing units. Even then vampires and greenskins don't have access to really good single target armour piercing units up until like tier 4 settlements. Skaven will of course bring jezzails and ratlings so thats when I like to move on runes to just buff the shit out of my army. But early game dwarf lord is just so tanky. Especially with oathstone items. Just give him 170 armor and let him fight skavens alone in early game xD

@@nelsonelloi3770 corner camping is lowkey usually the best strategy for the “standard” dwarf army. ToD definitely made other options a lot more viable than they used to be, like gyro spam or slayer-based armies. However, if you’re going with a few heroes, handful of heavy infantry, and a ton of missile units strat, corner camping is your best choice when it works with the terrain (and if it doesn’t, it’s best to at least find a place to side camp with good terrain).
