With Arkansas being a hotspot for pursuits and PIT's, it's because one, they have tons of footage and it's publicly available when it's released, and two ASP, Arkansas State Police, are serious troopers and there's a lot of idiots with cars that are cheap speed, like Challengers, Chargers, Camaros, and even Chrysler 300's. They are usually younger guys with drugs, guns, and a delusion that they can run away from ASP whenever. And yes, all this happens mostly starts on highways and interstates, because that's ASP's jurisdiction. Lots of drug mules and drug runners as well. With the PIT's themselves, if you're trained, you can almost, in most contexts, dictate where the car/truck goes while conducting a PIT. If you hit hard and spin them around on the asphalt, they are likely to correct and careen into the other side of the road at some point. If you tap them and force them to over-correct, they will a lot of times fly right off the right side of the road and into the ditch or trees. That's completely dependent on dozens of factors though. Also, ASP in general do NOT play around. They'll PIT for just about anything, as long you're on their roads. They'll also PIT at ANY speed. The record on cam is I think either 123 mph or 128 mph, and even those aren't inherently fatal all the time. I've seen 50 mph PIT's be devastating and even ice the person, and 100+mph PIT's do nothing but total the car and anger the driver. ASP and it's troopers are now moderately YT famous for having all their footage out for people to enjoy, even specific troopers have become celebrities, like Trooper Jacob Byrd for example.

I remember this happening. I definitely understand why they just stop chasing after a certain speed and time. Because they know who you are and that point you’re risking so many people lives for no reason. These people who go on high speed chases are dumb
@nepasuperscenters87838 ай бұрын
How exactly did they “know” who they were? Does a high speed chase telepathically transfer a thief’s identity to the police officer following? How about we just say don’t steal a car and run across state lines going 100+ miles per hour.
@winterlove77588 ай бұрын
@@nepasuperscenters8783 or….i can just say what I said. From what I experienced and seen they do know. Most people who go on high speed chases aren’t first offenders so yeah. You in the system. And most cases the cops stopped the car for something else and the person runs…. People who run more than likely are known to police. Everytime? Obviously not. But what I said wasn’t wrong so I’m sure where this hostility came from 😂

I agree with you on this one, there are plenty of departments who do it right and wouldn't dare attempt a pit with traffic ahead. You usually "chase" basically just keep up until the road clears up and then perform the maneuver. Not proud of the pit attempts above, but I have seen them do it right plenty of times. Also completely depends on the officer too. They should re watch this in training for what to avoid. Once again, I am not against pit maneuvers, just should be done right

Doing a pit at those speeds with that much traffic is wildly irresponsible and dangerous. This isn't a damn video game and that cop is putting so many other people in danger, all for a stolen vehicle. Pitting at 101mph is full blown attempted murder. This is one of those situations where both parties were at fault. The only knowledge they had at that time was that the truck was stolen, nothing else.
