Exactly! but for someone like JD Vance who lives based on the social script he was programed with, its inconceivable to him because he thinks that the need for children and the impulse to have them is inherent to human beings. Unfortunately, he didn't seem to leave space for the question "wait, what happens to those children after they are born" (btw, i make a distinction between a right winger and a conservative, because most conservatives do seem to me to be perfectly reasonable people, and don't follow this kind of nonsense belief system) This is my biggest issue with rightwing belief systems: They care about a certain action because they have idealized it, and now they just think of it inside a vacuum, without considering what the consequences of said large scale action is. Its the same thing with anti abolitionists. They assume first of all that pro choice people are pro abortion, but they are actually pro choice of the person giving birth and want to allow people to have a kid or not depending on their own business ( as it is their own business) So besides the control they want over woman and people in general, the worst part is that they never talk about "what happens to that child after they are born" and when they do talk about it, some of them, go on to say stuff like " well its better to be an orphan and homeless than never been born at all" which, wtf, lets just make a human being knowing before hand that they would suffer so much? its literally a position of " i know they will suffer, but its better that they do, that the alternative of not suffering" So to them " never mind that about 60% of female child orphans end up being sexually exploited after they turn the age of 18 and they are cast out of the foster home to fend for themselves on the street. never mind homeless people having no reliable way to get out of their situation, and never mind no healthcare, no food, addiction, mental health issues, the threat of just other poor people stealing from them and them being considered less than human, and less important that the privilege of a housed person to not have to see homeless people living on the street. California is literally now breaking down homeless encampments because they passed a bill allowing them to, and not having enough housing which is the actual problem." So basically they care about life, when its a fetus, but any other time other than fetus-hood, who gives a shi#. oh and not only even "who gives a shi", but even have hatred towards the homeless, towards addicted people, call them lazy, evil and so on. so its just about control, but many of them think that it isnt, because they havent had any pushback on these things, since people close off about cirtain topics as they have been programed to do by their favorite media figures. If one of them hears someone say the word " problematic", they immediately dismiss any point that come before, or will come after. I saw it last night in the comments of a TurfNation video, in which the guy being criticized "Chris Gore' was literally saying how he is okay with gay people as long as he never has to see them in movies, and that there should be a separate program for them instead whare they can do all they gay stuff they want. Nevertheless, there are still a lot of conservative and even rightwing people who are willing to listen, who are openminded, reasonable, and who use their brains, and they can be reasoned with when it comes to irrefutably good stuff, and they realize that they've been fighting the people who are trying to help them So that's at least good. Of course, many of them might need some prerequisite knowledge about leftist ideas they have misunderstood and have been lied to about, but everyone can learn. And to those thinking that this is a "team" thing for me. It's not, because what i believe is based on a philosophy based on human wellbeing, empiricism, skepticism, formal logic, But it so happens that one side of the political spectrum also bases its stances on these fundamental human values, rather than on dogma and arbitrarily decided tradition at best, and the whims of the ruling class at worst. As a Black American Muslim woman, moe often than not, I have experienced interactions with white people who have read or talked about people like me but never spoke to one of us.
