Why does this couple need two big truck/SUVs? Do they have a ranch and need to haul hay? That's the only reason I used to drive a truck. I have a 20 acre off-grid ranch and used to have horses. I still have goats and chickens after giving up my equines, but decided a small Hyundai SUV that gets excellent gas mileage was more practical. I have to drive 3 miles down a very rough canyon dirt road to get to my ranch, which is 2 miles past my nearest neighbor. Mine is the only house left this far out away from a paved road. It's 3 miles to a paved road, and another 12 miles down the mountain to reach "civilisation". . My little 21 year-old Hyundai Santa Fe has front wheel drive, and it crawls right over the bad spots. I paid $800 for that car 5 years ago. It has no AC, a small side window was gone so I covered it with thick vinyl and glue. The hatchback with back seat folded down gives me plenty of cargo room for bags of goat and chicken feed, and I still have room for groceries. I actually do live on a ranch, but I don't need a massive truck that wastes fuel. My 1996 Dodge 4X4 was fun, and could go anywhere, but got 10 mpg. My little hoopty Hyundai gets about 24 miles to the gallon, even as an elderly car of 21 years! Frequent oil changes, regular maintenance, and driving it as if I'm carrying Baccarat crystal in the back has kept it going.

She makes probably 1/6 of what I do, she drives her Mercedes, gets Starbucks every single day, has perfect teeth, perfect hair, nails are always done, supposedly she spent $25,000 on shoes just last year, And she eats her lunch out every single day (I bring mine or eat at the school cafeteria). I even tried talking to her about it, and she basically said I'm just an old fogey, and don't understand what it's like to be a young person today. Well, I'm going to retire early with a couple million dollars in the bank, and I worry she is going to end up old without a dime to her name except Social Security.

These people spend more money on their two cars than I do my entire budget, including my house! I live in a small house in an inexpensive area, and I only pay $560 per month for my mortgage. As for cars, I NEVER buy anything brand new, and I usually keep my vehicles for as long as possible. What a waste of money.

I just did a loans calculation on $84k 7 years 10% interest. The interest comes out to be $33k total. So if she had paid $50k, her loan would have AT LEAST went down to 84-(50-33) = $67k. If her loan is anything above this the bank is literally scamming her.
