This helped me a ton. S21 Ultra. I did a few of those tricks for better battery, but still use 1440p resolution and 120 hz, and after a couple cycles, testing the current one I'm over 4 hours SOT, mainly watching video on Instagram and KZbin which is heavy usage, and I have the video enhancer on, and the phone has been unplugged for 17 hours. 63% battery left.

I think this will be so helpful as I am just about to move from a iPhone 12 mini to a Samsung S21, lots of great tips :) If anybody wondering why changing phones after 3 months, then the answer is OVERHEATING & SCREEN DIMMING! Even happening indoors reading the news, when it happens outside in warm weather it is so bad I cannot see the screen until it cools down, then within 2 minutes it has over heated again and screen dims!

Your tip about turning off 5g has changed my life.. 5g isn't wide spread here in Australia only the major cities have it I didn't need it and seriously the battery savings have shocked me and I thought I knew everything. Battery life is extremely important to me ( due to potentially needing my phone in an emergency ) you gave many useful in depth tips, well done, Thanks heaps for this video it's very much appreciated.

One of the only people to go over some of these options, thank you for not JUST googling features and presenting them as your own. You should do a feature on wifi settings for the s21 ultra with developer options. Some developer mode options makes this phone a wifi beast, my phone now has better wifi reception than my 1200$ laptop 🤯

Probably the best "Tips and Tricks" phone video I've seen in ages (and I've been on Android since the OG Droid)...Love the calm voice/no shouting, the pace was fast enough to not be slow, slow enough to be clear. I've been on Android 11 on my S10 for months before I got the S21, but still learned some new things about Android 11 settings, and ended up with an improved setup on my phone. Thanks for doing this!

Crazy. I love smartphones and I thought I couldn't learn anything from this video. But even during the first 8 minutes I learned more than I thought: 1. Switch to 4G instead of 5G to save battery life. 2. Use adapt sound, this it dramatically increases headphone sound quality. 😀 And now, I am watching the rest of this video. The S21 Ultra is the first Samsung phone I've gotten where literally doing nothing out of the box I was able to get well over 6 hours of Screen On Time, can't wait to make it last even longer.

Same here. At first I usually drain the phone so that it can calibrate its battery readings properly. Done at 2 am and took me 7 hours to drain this beast lol

Before watching this video, I did the following. Turned off animations/transistions. Not fast charging, charging to 70% instead of 100 for battery conditioning. Keeping the phone cool, on a fan while charging. Changing Hz to lowest possible. Turning off background apps activity. I probably did some other stuff but can't remember at the moment. Thank you for the intro to goodlock and the LTE tip.

You shouldnt keep your hz on 60, its way more enjoyable to use it at 120 hz even if it uses a little bit more power, you paid for a phone capable of those things and you should use it. If you wanted a phone with a better battery then you shouldve bought a cheaper phone with bigger battery with 60 hz.

To improve the lifespan of your physical battery turn OFF all the fast charging. Only turn it on when you really need it, then turn it back off.

Don't need to go mobile phone connection options, just click power save mode on in quick menu and phone switches to 4g and disables 120hz down.

Thanks for the great video! I've done just about every modification you recommended and have seen a solid increase in battery life. Thank you SO MUCH for sharing how to turn off 5g. Wish I'd know how for my most recent retired device, but better late than never I suppose. Some thoughts on 5g coverage... I live in a medium-sized, tech-centric city that one would think is awash with 5g service, but it's just the downtown area that has it in a continuous swath. Otherwise it's kind of a patchwork along major roadways. A user bounces between 4g and 5g regularly just outside of the downtown area - any bus ride on a busy corridor and one may switch five or six times on the way home. It was sus but ultimately inconsequential on my Pixel 3 5G. Same with my S21. But the meh-end Motorola UW 5G Ace I'd been using for the past yearish seemed to struggle with the constant transitions during my commutes across town. It was a tolerable tradeoff given that at the time I was working at a job where severe phone damage/death was a constant threat, so why invest in something nice? Now, however, it's not okay. I will certainly be talking to my parents about 5g service on their phones. They live in a little town and don't need to be wasting their batty life on a service that doesn't exist in their area yet. Just picked my pre-ordered Phantom Black S21 Ultra 256gb on 28 Jan 2021, along with it I got a Samsung Trio Wireless Charger as a free gift besides the Buds Pro and Smart Tag that are on the way. Just went thru your entire video and made the changes you recommended, very informative and helpful. The only problem I have is in the Auto Fill I have the Samsung Pass I added Google, but I noticed you cannot check both of them If I switch to Google will I loose access to the passwords already stored under the Samsung Pass? I upgraded from a S9 Plus I had brought on day one in March 2018 when they were released for sale. Your video was very informative, keep them coming fellow. I'm living in Germany.

You do not need to press your finger so hard onto the fingerprint reader.. super light touch for a split second is all it takes... the reader on this phone is amazing and works almost as soon as your skin touches the screen

AMAZING !! I must say that since Android 11 arrived, the deep sleep not really working if you check the app settings you will see the process still on (you can press stop) and ... the data still working (I have checked with a firewall). many deep sleeping apps still using data even while they are sleeping. Samsung did something wrong this time. it was great before
