Yeap, and NO CHANCE of parole. I'd like for them to get at least 3 times as harsh punishments, because some sentences are just weak as it is. If the maximum for a crime a cop does is 5 years, then I don't think 10 is enough - 15 sounds better. And they need to start to look deeper into *who* is making these cops feel like they are allowed to behave like this. Because corruption doesn't just start in a vacuum.

Happened this past week in Albuquerque. Guy picks up homeless to take to dinner, driver was stabbed after the guy said sorry. He was found pretty close by where he would charge the officers with the weapon resulting in him getting shot.

"Would you rather..." I've been a college professor. My most recent endeavors in the field have completely turned me off of education careers in their entirety. I will say this, though: the only students that I can think of that "held to a higher standard" were the students that I knew to be highly intelligent and honorable individuals. And that "higher standard" was usually in the form of basically giving those students a few pointers with regards to things they would encounter in later classes in the major. There are different ways to be "held to a higher standard". I'm guessing the way that's intended here is negatively connotative, and certainly there are professors like that who exist. The only ones I've met, though, were the ones that recognized the students being held to the higher standard were actually higher quality students that we expected to do greater things than simply get a job and exist after graduation.

3:05 This is not the first case or an unusual crime. Growing up in the 80 - 90's I came across cops like these. As a young black man, I felt trapped when I dealt with the police because that system was not designed for low-income/inner-city people. I was threatened while ordering a sandwich by NYPD, I was arrested for breaking and entering when I was hanging out with a friend, a friend who was white. They arrested me for a made-up charge and his parents refuse to press charges against me so they changed the charge to trespassing. I went to court for that. My point was when I went in front of the Judge and told him my side of the story that the police made up the charges, his reply was, why would the Police Officer LIE? I was approached by the police because a crime happened on that street. The police ask me what I was doing there, I told him I was at my friend's house playing video games. The police talked to my friend to verify the story and they came back and put me under arrest because my friend wasn't old enough to give me permission to enter his house. True Story! This is one of many stories. This was the theme of my childhood when it came to the police.
