The chainsaw in the first one didn’t “malfunction “. Kickbacks occur occasionally and you have to have a strong grip on it to halt it’s arc. Tree cutting is one of the most dangerous professions. They call dead branches up in trees “widow makers” for good reason.

Coming from a family of loggers, I concur. My uncle lost his arm after it was crushed by a falling tree that bounced and pinned him. My cousin rolled his loaded rig on a switchback on a run down to the plant from the mountain. Death comes easy in the woods.

My grandfather was cutting branches off of a tree and accidentally cut the one he was standing on. My grandmother ran over to him when he hit the ground and he said to her “I think I just did something I haven’t done since I was a kid.” She asked him “Did you break something?” He said “No I just pissed myself!”

I went to see him at the hospital one day and he was wheeling himself down the hallway in a wheelchair and I asked him what he was doing, he said “Wheeling around, drinking beer, and chasing women.” He’s always saying some off the wall shit lol.

When I was a methadone counselor, I had a patient who was a tree surgeon who worked with his father. Patient fell out a tree and into a hole. He asked his father why his boot a distance away. Father told son not to look. Client had cut his foot off. He showed me pictures. Doctors reattached his foot and he can walk on it. The stories I heard at that job! Liking your channel.

As someone who goes to a clinic...I don't doubt you heard some crazy ass shit. Last year on 4th of July one guy from my clinic was lighting illegal fireworks off at home. Well I guess he held one too long or something because it exploded in his hand. When he finally came back they had him in this mitten thing for a while, then a more glove looking thing, when I finally saw his hand...it's a mess. And that's after the multiple surgeries. Must've sucked so bad. I can't imagine the foot thing ugh.

I would like to hear about that. Texas has has some convoluted laws about home protection, and there have been multitudes of unusual cases. The weirdest one I read about was a father and son who were being harassed continually by some enemies of the son. The guys were aggressive and destructive, coming by at night and damaging property, etc., and the police never did anything, according to them, so the dad had the idea of he and his son hiding on the roof of their house with loaded guns to wait for the next trespass, which happened. They shot and killed at least one teenager, as I remember, and were outraged to be arrested. The law says you can defend your house and property, but not set traps for people, which is kind of murky. I don't remember the outcome, but it took years....

@@ugmodude It's important to be realistic, and have some kind of plan for what you're going to di when the worst happens...if someone hates hurricanes, I agree with you, they need to stop being upset that they happen! We are retiring to a beach in the Gulf of Mexico, but are definitely making plans for a place to stay inland when the inevitable hurricane hits. We have a family ranch in the hill country, and can stay there if we need to, for a long time. The big problem with storms is the clean up, which takes forEVER...it takes years to recover from a huge storm. You have to expect to lose your house. Anyone who refuses to be realistic about nature, gets what they deserve for being in denial.
