@Ashley Delgado You don't "believe in hate speech"? I understand that if you're privileged and have never experienced hate speech it's possible to just turn a blind eye to it. But that's your privilege shielding you. Hate speech is serious and harmful. And for everyone who seems to not be in favour of rehabilitation: why is it that countries which use a rehabilitative justice system have a far lower rate of recidivism than countries that don't, such as the USA? There are some people who can't be rehabilitated. But I highly doubt those kids were among them. They should of course be held accountable for what they did, absolutely. But if there's a possibility that they can be given the help they need to be functional members of society, why shouldn't they be?

I used to work the haunted forest at SeaWorld as a vampire, drifting around and "non threateningly" being scary...since there were lots of young kids and SeaWorld was still trying to be scary without being scary....the danger was the teen boys who would show off for each other by attacking costumed employees, kicking, punching or trying to tear your costume. I finally had a few maintenance guys hiding nearby so they could save me if I was getting out of my coffin and some 16 year old wanted to put a tree branch in my chest or choke me...some kids are really, really psychotic! If they think they can get away with it, they'll do serial killer stuff for fun!

The difficult part is that people don't walk in straight lines without a guideline. You would end up going in circles. You would need something like, a distant mountain, or light, that you can see above the cornstocks. The north star would work on a clear night, the sun during the day. Worst case, as long as you're dressed seasonally, and preferably have some water with you, if it's a cloudy night, you could wait until dawn, then use the sun.

You were suppose to only be in your seat and holding the "seat railing". I almost flew out of my seat every time the wheel was going down because there was some much space between me and the railing. I was almost free falling for 3 minutes straight. The only reason why I am alive is because a man next to me was using his arm like a belt to keep me in my seat. Thank god he was strong.

When I was 12-13 (1986-87) my family was at a county fair in Rock Springs, Wyoming. Rock Springs is more like plains or deserts, with no trees. The wind is horrible. The day we went the wind picked up the huge Moon Walker, we call them bouncy houses now, straight into the air spilling children out. It flew across the fair, and a little girl fell out onto the top of another ride. She was airlifted to Salt Lake City but passed away. There were quite a few serious injuries. We didn't realize the severity of the situation and kept on riding rides. We didn't find out until the next day what had really happened. The family of the little girl had to spend months fundraising to pay for that life flight to Salt Lake.

At the corn maze, perhaps they could have a few lookout towers, similar life savers at the beach, where someone could guide lost souls out. They could either furnish each group or person with an extendible stick with a flag at the end. Alternatively, leave heaps of flags on tall sticks about all over the maze. The use of flags is not uncommon for mazes.

Can we get a “When parents or inventions go wrong” please and thank you. I’d rather get lost in a maze because you can call for help, in a haunted house there’d be “no service/signal” and all kinds of things tryna get you. Either way both circumstances are pretty terrifying.

I was loaded onto the mind eraser at six flags in Darien lake (NY) and not properly harnessed in. I was riding with a friend who was my age and when we went to board they loaded me on next to an older gentleman and put his son with my friend. Thank God they did that because when we went up and we're actively on the ride and it's going, my harness wasn't snapped in place. The father panicked and held down my harness and held me in place the whole ride. It was pure insanity. We didn't go on that ride again and I thank my lucky stars I had a father alongside me that day instead of my friend who probably wouldn't have been able to hold me down .. I don't like going on rides anymore 😶😶😶

I can’t for the life of me, understand why people like these god awful rides! I hate them with a passion. Just looking at them sends shivers down my spine! I reluctantly had to get on one for a TV show here in Japan in 2015. The ride is called Steel Dragon. I will leave it up to your imagination, but I can assure it was so horrible I thought I would die! I just know I aged ten years from that nightmarish ride! Never again! I don’t care how much you pay me!

Oh, the ride owners paid for her treatment after admitting responsibility. How sweet of souls they are. Fuck that! She fell off the damn ride and broke her face on concrete. They should have to pay her medical Bill's and give her 10 million dollars and it still isnt worth it. I feel so bad for that poor woman. She has metal plates for a jaw now. No amount of money is worth that suffering. But they chose to say, "my bad" we will pay those medical Bill's but you are fucked trying to find work from now on

About 10 years ago in a large theme park, OCT, in Southern China they had a space ride to celebrate the Chinese going into space. We were there and as it was so popular we decided not to line up for hours. A Hong Kong engineer noticed serious faults in the construction and wrote to the park alerting them. However a mere month later some of the modules / cars came crashing down killing and injuring those taking the ride. It was initially reported and then suddenly it was hushed up and we never saw any more reports. An interesting one to report on if you can find out more. By the way OCD means Overseas Chinese Town a place originally set aside for Overseas Chinese returning to the Country

I had a terrifying experience on a state fair ride with my cousin, when I was about 12. It was a wheel ride that rotated the carts as you went up in the air. My harness hadn’t been locked down closely, and there was way too much space. When our cart started rotating I begin to feel like I was slipping out. I was holding on with everything I had, and yelling for them to stop the ride. They did not. In my teens I rode every large roller coaster at Six Flags multiple times, but nothing came close to the terror I felt on that janky state fair ride.
