Every year in the ruins of what was once North America, the evil Capitol of the nation of Panem forces each of its twelve districts to send a teenage boy and girl to compete in the Hunger Games. A twisted punishment for a past uprising and an ongoing government intimidation tactic, The Hunger Games are a nationally televised event in which "Tributes" must fight with one another until one survivor remains. Pitted against highly-trained Tributes who have prepared for these Games their entire lives, Katniss is forced to rely upon her sharp instincts as well as the mentorship of drunken former victor Haymitch Abernathy. If she's ever to return home to District 12, Katniss must make impossible choices in the arena that weigh survival against humanity and life against love. It really was. For a book to movie adaptation, it was all kept surprisingly similar. A lot of movie adaptions never get close to the books, or at least take a lot of liberties with it, so it was nice to see how close the movie was kept to the book.

I was a little skeptical at first - Most super popular movies are ones that I don't like, but with all of the positive reviews and great trailers, I took a closer look and then decided to see what all of the fuss was about. And boy am I glad I did. It's my favorite movie now. It's so absolutely stunning... It usually takes quite a bit to make my cry at movies, but that one finally got me. It touched my heart and I will never forget the experience! I cant wait until I can get the DVD!

Oh, it's really good. I read the first book until 5am, went off to school, never concentrated in class because i was so sleepy, but I still felt my sleep time was worth it. Well, that's how interesting it was for me, but no matter what kind of person you are, anyone who starts reading from the first few pages will be interested to find more, and will never get satisfied until they do. I'm mentally slapping myself (sometimes literally) for still not getting my hands on the 3rd book.
