Very informative and you will not hear a Dr tell you this. Only in cases of alcoholism and severe malabsorption. But my mom who recently died of " Alzheimer's" exhibited many of these symptoms for years ,even being hospitalized for psychiatric disorder. And now , me and my sibling have had all sorts of these other symptoms I figured out awhile back diet and digestion was probably causing all these symptoms. I lost a younger sister in her 50s. I was in in very poor health and retired earlier than planned but have focused on this very thing and am now doing much better. Only help received from medical Dr was treating symptoms not causes.
@sandstorm8874 Жыл бұрын
happy you're getting better. I think it's the same story all over the world, I've been dealing with issues caused by malabsorption for decades, doctors never even realized it was that, they just prescribed pills to treat every symptom. The first pill that ever really helped me was iron, solved many of the symptoms for which I had been prescribed at least 10 different drugs. and correcting my diet has taken care of something like 80% of my problems. It's so sad that I can't regain all those lost decades ruined by my health problems, but I can make everything possible to live my remaining years to the fullest. I wish you and your sibling find a way to correct your symptoms and that you keep on healing.

@@YouButter Hello there, I’d searched for a clean brand for months. I found that Blue Bonnet Brewer’s Yeast-BBBY has an impressive ingredient profile of Minerals, Vitamins, and Amino Acids. I was searching for a non-GMO, unfortified BY that included Chromium, and Thiamine with an Amino Acid profile. Some other product packaging might list a few vitamins and minerals only, without Amino Acids. B-12 was previously listed as a Vitamin in BBBY. I sent the company an email, and I called them as well, asking how their product could contain B-12, when they weren’t using/brewing/fermenting with wheat/gluten, their process was based on yeast fermentation, and their product was listed as non-bitter. Lately, I’ve noticed that they no longer list B-12 as a Vitamin. So, this tells me that perhaps the inclusion of hops, and wheat during the beer brewing/fermention process naturally produces B-12, and is very bitter in taste. If one wishes to supplement B-12; Methylcobalamin, Adenosylcobalamin, and Hydroxo especially in combination would enhance absorption. As for products labeled as Di-Bittered; Usually, if the naturally occurring bitter taste is removed, the naturally occurring nutritional element that produces that bitter taste is removed also. So, BBBY does not contain gluten, soy, and is Vegan-if that’s ever a concern. It is not produced using wheat. Their’s is a fermentation process; Saccharomyces Cerevisiae grown on certified non-GMO sugar beet molasses It is unflavored, unsweetened, and UNFORTIFIED; no synthetic vitamins are added. Fortified means added. The usually means synthetics. There is an ALLERGEN WARNING on the package, because of the facility in which the BBBY is produced. My advice; Know what you’re looking for as far as a nutritional profile, and non-desired ingredients, additives. Research, converse with, purchase your product from a reputable company that lists all of the ingredients in their product on the packaging. Also, purchase from THE company that produces/manufacture/makes the product. They can claim what is inside. There are companies out there that have no nutritional information listed on the packaging, but if you visit their website, you will see something to the effect of; ‘The name Brewer’s Yeast means that it contains, is good for, is known to have, Blah, Blah, Blah’. This lets one know that such a company has repackaged a product from another manufacturer thus, the repackager cannot make any claims to what is inside the product. And, you will not receive a refund from the repackage-company, even after calling them out for not being able to answer questions about the product ingredients, and for their false presentation-meaning, ‘what’s actually in this box that I’ve purchased from you?’. I hope that this makes sense and that it helps.

I wonder if some or most people who have this deficiency have it because of a digestive disorder like SIBO? It can cause nutrient malabsorption and lead to other diseases like fibromyalgia. I was having tummy issues and was diagnosed by a naturopath with SIBO, and subsequently followed a special diet to help alleviate symptoms. I did have the tingling and numbness in my legs and feet. Now I recall I had the vertigo too and dizziness. I thought it was due to high blood pressure but I suppose it could have been influenced by both. There is a concomitant issue called Gastrocardiac Syndrome.
@Neon12J Жыл бұрын
No in fact it’s the other way around. People can get SIBO and digestive disorders usually because of a b1 deficiency. B1 is needed for the vagus nerve and autonomic nervous system and also for secretion of bile salts and acid. When there is poor gut motility and function due to b1 deficiency, SIBO can easily occur.

@Rene-uz3eb9 ай бұрын
@@ggexp6128 yes. You can overdo some vitamins, and it will probably lead to oxidative stress. I don't see a reason why huge doses of b1 would be needed. It doesn't make physiologic sense. The only time vitamin megadoses are appropriate is when the RDA is unreasonably minimal (vitamin D, when in the sun you produce much more), or when absorption is a problem (vitamin B12). To say it's kryptonite was a bit exaggerated as for me apparently quite a few things can throw me off, and I sort of need minimal oxidative stress and the right nutrients for my body to go into anabolic mode.

Some rat study says thiamine deficiency prevents magnesium depletion, so maybe I'd have to double down on magnesium. That being said, I do take magnesium so I don't appreciate the thiamine using up he magnesium, which seems to be another way to interpret this. Ok after a basic calc I'm calling bs on the current regime of supplements providing 100mg which is about 100x rda. From normal food, you usually get about 1x rda thiamine. Magnesium tends to be lower, esp on a meat heavy diet. So a natural ratio would be 5:1. You could say that's the 'natural' low magnesium state. Now you make that 500:1 with a thiamine supplement, since it's impossible to balance that out with magnesium (30g?). Active thiamine uses magnesium enzymes. Good to know my multivit also has high levels of thiamine, 40mg in the smaller portions I take. I've noticed a bit of an issue with it. So either have to up my mag dose with it and see or new multivit

Not fair for someone who doesn't smoke, doesn't to drugs, healthy BMI, mountain bikes and runs, doesn't consume seed oils, not that much rice or even pasta.

That's a therapeutic dose size. For fixing a deficiency someone might be on that for 7 days and then be done (with 3-5mg per day from a multi after that.) If you're taking it therapeutically (ie for very specific conditions where it helps manage the symptoms that are not based on a deficiency), on the other hand, you risk messing up your body due to compensation elsewhere unless you have a competent medical professional helping you cover your bases.

I had issues with peripheral neuropathy, and at the same time, I had one of my pupils being more dilated than the other, but this happened mostly at night so doctors couldn't see it and didn't believe me, or said it Was normal that one of my pupils was slightly bigger. I knew something Was wrong but nobody did nothing. I also was low-key dizzy, and so I concluded there was something wrong with my nerves, and I went to the neurologist for help but he made me feel stupid, he performed all physical tests on me and didn't find a problem, so he said my pins and needles and numbness were caused by something else, and to go to the eye doctor because he had nothing to do with eyes (!) , and concluded everything was probably caused by "anxiety", which I also had but I Was sure it was related to the other conditions. since I insisted there was something wrong, he prescribed a super extensive and costly mri (not covered by insurance since there was no obvious damage), not without attaching The order with a pass for an appointment with the psychiatrist :( I told every doctor I've had gastrointestinal issues for years, but nobody took that into account, and they all dismissed me blaming my issues on "anxiety and depression", as if it was the cause and not one more symptom. They literally want you to be full on demented, emaciated or display the whole list of korsakoff symptoms (and not mild but clear and intense) to diagnose you and prescribe some supplements. same happens with every deficiency. And of course, vitamins are NEVER the first drugs to be prescribed, they just fill you with naids and every other (expensive and chronic) medication. I'm so happy we live on the age of information and try to find out what's wrong with us thanks to people like you. Thank you for sharing.
