Is it just me or am I the only one that likes the whole thing with khamzat and the dictator narrative ? To me it’s like a movie. I think it scales the fight more. UFC being an organization where countries are bringing their best fighters forward to face off with other countries. To me it’s of smaller magnitude when you see guys fighting each other from other gyms in the United States. There are so many gyms it’s hard to keep track of. And a lot of the fighters are all training with each other or switching gyms. I personally like seeing the rivalry between countries like it was with the Russians and khabib and the Irish with Conor.

I love watching Khamzat and how he fights. The dampener is knowing certain people in his corner. I do feel sorry for Khamzat. Put yourself in his shoes. Your family live in that country. Geopolitical issues might actually be a reason to let Chimaev fight du Plessis. The UFC seems to want to have du Plessis fight in South Africa. Strickland doesn't seem to want to go there but Chimaev says he has no problems with that. Meanwhile the arab countries are almost in the same time zone as South Africa and would probably rather see Chimaev than Strickland when they have the chance to see a fight during their day time.
