I prefer the more delicate bands, but as an anniversary band, I like some thicker rings too. I love the feel and weight of platinum. The thin bands around 1.5 - 1.7 aren’t really trendy because I’ve had my band for 21 years. I’ve had my anniversary band for over 11 years. I do know what you mean though. I’ve seen like 1.0 and 1.3; I guess those are trendy. That oval engagement ring is gorgeous!

I just love the look of the classic knife edge solitaire diamond 💍 ring. It’s what I have. I think mine is 2.5 millimeters and it’s perfect. Especially since I wear it daily and anything thinner is not very practical. So glad “thicker” is making a comeback.

dainty has been so in for so long, that many people now perceive a normal, proportional band as one that's way too thick, which is such a shame. look at how much more personality and resilience that band gives the ring! beautiful :D
@serisingh Жыл бұрын
Hi Bonnie! Can you make a video comparing Diamond colors? It would be helpful to know for example, if it’s set in gold, would a D color look more like an H such that you might as well get an H instead? If set in platinum, do you need a higher color grade to avoid a noticeable color? How about how the different colors grades look with different cut shapes? Do certain shapes make you need a higher color grade?

I've had my 3 stone platinum engagement ring since 2005. And I love the thicker band. I had very specific criteria when choosing my setting. I didn't want a solitaire (too simple for my taste) and I didn't want any pave on the band either (too feminine for my taste and also there is the risk of stones falling out). Hence the 3 stone. I wanted a matching band but it didn't come with it. So we had it made. And I had it soldered on so it's even thicker now lol. I love the substantial look.

My original wedding band and ring are thicker and I love them. I actually have a thin eternity band and a 3 stone ring that is 2.0 MM that I pair it with the eternity band and I love it. My band is 14K yellow gold with a Black diamond center and 2 half moon flawless diamonds on the side. My eternity band is Platinum with emerald and round diamonds. It was a gift from my husband and I plan on getting a Sapphire ring next with a thicker eternity band.

I’m so happy to see Bonnie do a video on this!! I, personally, have never been a fan of the super thin, dinky bands with the big rocks. It always looked way out of proportion to me. I have always loved the blinginess of thick/wide bands. This is why for my new upgraded ring (for my 10 year anniv) I went with a wide band that has the look of 3 bands due to the 3 rows of stones. I honestly got tired of having to put on/take off (and maintain) 3 separate rings and wanted the less hassle a single ring gives. I just got my custom design delivered to me yesterday and it is EVERYTHING I have ever wanted in my dream ring . The designer even made a video on my ring: kzbin.info/www/bejne/m3abh4Sbi7aXhbs

May I ask if a 2 carat round cut diamond would go well with a 2.20mm pave band or a 2.50mm band? I see that your 2.50carat round cut diamond ring looks great and proportional when it has a 2.50mm pave band. I am not sure if a 2.50mm band would result in the 2 carat stone to look smaller. Thanks!

Bonnie, can you please do a video on the emerald cut eternity band on your right hand, the size, the setting. For your past few videos that is where my eye gravitate towards. You have done a video on the radiant version, you need to do one on the emerald cut, and maybe a side by side comparison! Last, is it comfortable between finger? I am researching on a eternity band, and I have got tester rings I love the look but the uncomfortableness between finger is holding me back. Thank you so much. Love all your videos.

@ByBonnieJewelry Жыл бұрын
Hi there 😊 A 2mm thickness for a 1ct diamond is a good balance, providing ample support and showcasing the stone. It's a classic choice, but preferences can vary. If you like a more delicate look, you could consider going slightly thinner, around 1.8-1.9mm.
