Nice review. Still don't know which is better T5e or T5 edge.. One question and a little advice for new camera test videos: please make a table with bit rates camera does at 1080/30/60, 2.7K/30/60, 4K/30 - and what length in minutes video file can be saved in each mode. I'm using innovv c1 camera for some long time recordings and it can record ~35 minutes in one file 1080/30. That's very easy to upload to youtube and no postproduction needed to make 1 file of 3-7 if they were made short.

Do any of these cameras have motion detection to be used as a surveillance camera? Or watch for passing animals in the night or something like that? PS: Apparently there is a hole bunch of action cameras that are based on the same processors and sensors, this one seems to be Ambarella A12 Processor and IMX117 Sensor.

Alex, a few questions and comments: 1) The nighttime videos for the T5E seemed unusually bright - was that just the sensor's ability to handle low light extremely well, or did you take those clips at dusk when it wasn't completely dark? That was a night-and-day difference (pun intended) compared to the nighttime videos for the ThiEYE E7 or many other action cams you've reviewed, which look like they were taken several hours after sundown. It would help to have all of your nighttime videos done well after sundown when it is equally dark. 2) As others have asked, a comparison with the ThiEYE T5 Edge, when you get one, would be tremendously helpful. ThiEYE's website seems to show the T5 Edge having the act same features as the E7 you recently reviewed, and doesn't really distinguish them in any way, other than to say that the T5 Edge has "Best-ever image quality." So if you could do a side-by-side comparison of the T5E, E7, and T5 Edge, that would be really useful. 3) In your videos you typically will describe video quality, nighttime video quality, image stabilization, photo quality, etc... as "better than most" or "not as good as some that I've seen." Could you please take a few extra seconds in each of your videos to name specific, better-known models you've reviewed to compare with the one you are reviewing? (e.g. "this camera's stabilization is better than the A and B cameras, about the same as the M and N cameras, but not as good as the X, Y and Z cameras.") Most of us comparison shop for electronics, so if you can give us information comparing how one item does compared to several comparable units we might be considering, that would be extra helpful. 4) Your daughter is really cute - and therefore, I recommend an immediate paternity test (just kidding). However, not kidding and being completely serious, please have her wear a helmet (and you should too) anytime she is on a bicycle or if you go downhill skiing. I saw a statistic once that said that 3 out of 4 kids who die from head injuries while bicycling would have lived if they had been wearing a helmet. Thanks and keep up the excellent reviews - I recommend yours as about the best on KZbin.

So this new iCatch V50 processor /panasonic images sensor that they use for the E7 and that T5 Edge seems to do pretty bad in low light compared to what we got with this one and the SJ7 Star. The only advantage to that conbination is then image stabilization for 4k recordings. i know i didn't answer everything...but the wifi in cuba is expensive :)

Dear Alex! I would like to buy an action camera, checked many of your reviews and thinking between the ThiEYE T5e and the Apeman A80. I don't want 4k video, only 1080p60, so that's not a break point for me. In your video, the Apeman A80 the Gyro stabilization looks better then the T5, but afterall the video shoots seems better for the T5e. In the other hand, the Apeman has an option to change the view angle, 70 to 170 degree. I will primarily use the camera for playing with my kid (sport, underwater, swiming) and sometimes for dashcam/helmet cam. Could you recommend me which one should I choose? Or recommend me any alternative up to around 130 bucks?

so the original video from that action camera was recorded in 1080P (1920 X 1080). The review video was recorded in 4K (3840 X 2160). I had two options, i was either making the entire video smaller (1920x1080) or artificially up-scale the size of the 1080P footage to 4K thru software, and that's what i did

yes, you got the name right... a lot of cameras do 1080p120fps...but the quality decreases quite a bit at that resolution :(

+Abo LiFF this camera doesn't have optical zoom, only electronic zoom therefore you will loose quality. It's not advisable to zoom in with action cameras.

wen i put it on scope or telescope i need to zoom it ..to provide focusing on the scope side... i think i only need 1080 60fp
