“Thilowa” means three worlds. According to our scriptures number 3 is a perfect number. So, what is meant by that word is to indicate that God is the omnipotent ruler of whole universe.

Even though from a Scriptural viewpoint Kavindu's answer is acceptable, according to the context of the hymn, Ruwan's answer is more suitable... Indeed it means the Communion of the Saints - the Church Victorious (those who are in heaven) the Church Militant (us) and the Church Suffering (those who are in Purgatory)

thilowa means heaven purgatory and earth in christian context.. we did not copy any shit .. like some people who copy melodies of our hymns and make their religious songs.. catholic church is the father of western music why should we copy any shit. respect every religion...
