very good ! I have used that idea with a long snoot, took a cuple of pictures on a sign with the Hertz logo, and now they hang in several Hertz offices in Sweden ! 🙂

Awesome! I was doing pet portraits and was getting a nice natural effect via sun and window and have been trying to figure out how to create this effect for times when it just can’t be done naturally. Perfect!

I did the original snoot to illuminate a bottle label. I also used 2 layers of tracing paper, one one overlapping the tape by about 5mm and one about 3mm to feather the light slightly. It worked better with the 5mm closest to the light as I got a slightly weird line the other way round. I also tried cutting out a circle of cardboard with a square hole in it that didn’t work right at all, there’ll be some scientific reason I don’t understand for this. Great video as always, thank you and now I know why my barn doors didn’t work.

Pretty cool DIY hack. I've been saving some empty Pringles chips tubes to do something pretty similar. A video series of similar DIY options would be interesting to see as well.

This is so cool! I bought this beginner's lighting kit...and the lights with their umbrella reflector things are wide... Should be an interesting challenge to make slivers of light with some tape!

I love this. I am going try this using PVC tubing which I can slide inside of another larger PVC tubing (schedule 40) in the near future. In this way, it will be more adjustable on the fly.
