but tem increase causes both diametral and longitudinal increase, this diametral increase also cause decrease in length of cylinder by poission effect. why didnt u consider it sir.

It doesn't matter if diameter increases or decreases... As it not causing leak of gas... Gas can only leak if thr is decrease in length... Thats why only strains in longitudinal direction is considered... I hope i am right.. I thought this way... I may be wrong
