He puts so much meaning into the words as he sings like as if he has lived true it and the music is so deep. I must visit he’s grave some day. I have already visited Deloris from the cranberries in limerick. It’s so peaceful there in the heart of the country. All went before there time. Rest In Peace ❤

Just a delight to find a "new" Thin Lizzy song. I never rush into music. I try to let each song by a band sink down. Some become favorites and others I listen to mostly because of variation. With a band like Thin Lizzy there are too many favorites dough to really pick a top 10 or 20 list. I would just leave to many out that I also think should get the recognition!

In 1981 most of my friends only knew "The Boys Are Back In Town" but I played many of the old albums for them and they were blown away and soon became familiar and started buying TL music. I played Renegade at a party and when Mexican Blood came on everyone looked around like wow who is this. When Thunder & Lightning came out I bought it that day and told me buddy to come down. When he heard the first song T&L he said "Holy Sh*t!" who is this and I told him TL,he said this is the hardest sh*t I have ever heard. I am a huge Thin Lizzy fan, always have been always will be. This song is outstanding. It must be Sykes destroying his Les Paul in this tune. Thanks for sharing

Fits really well into the "Renegade" era, "just a boy, that's all..." Phil may have thought this sounded too much like the title track. Great major cords building up in the song. I join all the Lizzy fans in thanking you for sharing this great tune. Sykes is on the guitar. I played Emerald to a friend who is a very good musician and can't believe Lizzy never made it big in the USA. He said Emerald was not commercial enough. Maybe he has a point?

I have to agree with you - it sounds like it should have been on their 'Renegade' album. I couldn't get tickets for the 'Black Rose' tour (ft. Gary Moore), but I was able to see Lizzy with Snowy White (twice) and John Sykes (once), and Grand Slam a few times at London's Marquee Club.

Yeah, I know of the title...but that's about it. Didn't even know it was from the same period. Probably something else 99.999% of Lizzy fans will never hear. Damn shame, but nothing I'll lose sleep over. Occasionally a few of the guys that have some of these ultra-rare tracks goad me saying I'll never hear them, and if I'm not going to hear them, then it's a fat chance any significant majority ever will either. As far as getting some of these rarer tracks available, I've done my part.

I listen to Thin Lizzy since I was around 12 years old. For some reason I've always had this version in my library and I did not know that it was never released on a studio album and that there was a second version. I like this one far better because of the more elaborated and more aggressive lyrics. It's a shame it's never been properly released, I consider it as one of their best tracks ever! Thanks blacksabfan!
