Bought it when it came out. I also bought Live and Dangerous when it came out. I love both albums. I was in Boot Camp June-August 81in San Diego. I might have told you this before but I will say it again. We had a boom box and we were allowed to play music while we cleaned up the barracks. I had a copy of Live and Dangerous on cassette. It was the only tape that all 80 people in my company liked. The Brothers, White Dudes, Chicanos, Asaians, and me Lumbee Indian from North Carolina.

When i need my my sykes fix i put on life, the thunder and lightning album, whitesnake 1987, and the first blue murder album. That does the trick!

Hey Ralph, thanks for the Thin Lizzy-Life review and keeping Thin Lizzy relevant. They don't get the credit they so richly deserve. Phil made being a bass player, singer and rock star look so damn cool. They will forever be my favorite band. Those live albums are pure gold. Like Phil says, "the cowboy life is the life for me."

That ending to Angel of Death leading to the Absolute Best rendition of Are You Ready is the absolute best adrenaline pumping, furniture throwing moment in Live Album Rock History I couldn't finish this video looking at all the pictures. I miss Phil so much😢

This is an amazing Thin Lizzy album and a great live album, and it helped me out many times. When I first got my drivers license, it loved cruising around with girls, most of them didn’t like heavy metal. I would pop this cassette in and they would like it, most times we would end up parking somewhere and it was “smooching” time. 😊Thank you Phil Lynott. 👍

love Lizzy, have everything I can get my hands on on CD, also have some stuff from the days of cassettes, from the same city as Phillo, I dont think he'd recognise it now, its change so much over the last 30 years, RIP Phillo

'Life' - 'Live' Play on Irish accent, same as 'Tin Lizzy' - 'Thin Lizzy' Always loved this album. Big fan of the Snowy White stuff, and of course everything else. Lizzy finished way too early. For me they are up there with Queen, Beatles, Alice, Nazareth, AC/DC (Bon) Alex Harvey and all the other things that make life worth living. Keep on rocking!!

@@robcue4543 Brian Downey has the most infectious groove I have heard in a rock drummer. Thin Lizzy were 100% pure class.

Love this album. Always have. I bought it on release, and what Ralph said echoes the sentiments of many die-hard Lizzy fans in Britain at the time-ranging from ‘Meh, so-so. Nothing special,’ to outright dislike. Why? A common view was that the sound on Thunder and Lightning-and consequently on this tour-was too much of a departure from the classic Lizzy era, mainly due to Sykes' metallic influence and the increasing use of keyboards. I saw the tour and can understand that perspective to some degree, but Life is still a fine album in its own right.

Phenomenal album, but I wish they had put Wild One on it. Absolutely my top Lizzy song. (Just behind Opium Trail).

I ofcourse own this album as I am a huge Thin Lizzy fan since I was 16 or so. Although I certainly enjoy the album, I was never really happy with the mix. Live and Dangerous has a far better production in my opinion. Agree that it is sometimes really hard to listen to the sadness in Phil’s voice, especially because we all know what would happen a few years later. But it is a great live album, and I will give it a spin tomorrow 🤘🏻

Amen, friend got me into Thin Lizzy 80s. Had lot of there records, about wore out listening to this album. You should do something on Gary Moore! He was the best ! RIP Phil and Gary Moore :(

pity they did not put more 1983 live songs on rather than 1981 live ones. think got to give up with the missing ending and don't believe a word were recorded in Ireland. would be nice if they release all the concerts like live and dangerous did, they did 4 nights at Hammersmith. you are right are you ready, baby drives me crazy and me and the boys are live only tracks and in fact they were 3 encores which is odd that none of them are studio tracks.

Love this album. It could maybe do with a remix. Baby Please Don't Go is actually my favorite on here. Would've loved to have had Cowboy Song or maybe This is the One. I prefer the upbeat version of Don't Believe a Word and probably could've done without Are You Ready. This was the 2nd Lizzy album I bought.

Always thought why Snowy White wasn't involved as a guest on this album... playing on a song he was originally involved with... no matter what anyone says I loved the albums he was involved with (especially "Renegade") way better than the album Sykes was on... always thought Sykes was a bad addition to the band... He's a great guitar player but in my opinion he didn't fit with TL...oh I was disappointed in this album...but i always was comparing it to "Live and dangerous" which is one of the best live albums ever made... I guess if it was a stand alone I'd appreciate it more... but there ya go ...i had a bootleg VHS tape of this tour and unfortunately Phil looked whooped...😐

It SUCKS‼️‼️Just playin'. Never heard it. Knowing Sykes is on it, I'll give it a chance. I give ANYTHING with Sykes on it a chance. But I'm a HUGE Phil hater... along with Geddy. They make me wish I was the main character in Johnny Got His Gun (what One is about for those who don't know... GREAT book). I'll come back & give a real opinion once I get to listening to it. 🤘🏽🤘🏽🤘🏽
