Huey Lewis (of Huey Lewis & The News) has stated that Phil Lynott is the greatest frontman and genius in the history of rock music. Edit: Phil was also Lewis' mentor and was about to make a comeback in the mid 80s, right before his health went downwards, with Huey's help.

As a Lizzy fan since the 70s, I can assure you Lizzy wasn't just about Ireland. Phil was actually born in England to an Irish mother, Brian Robertson: Scottish, Scott Gorham: English, Snowy White: English, John Sykes: English, Darren Warton: English etc. Lizzy were the best band ever but they weren't the product if Ireland alone. It was a melting pot of creativity.

I don't know why people label them underrated.. They were massive in my world! Made some great songs with killer riffs and Phils Smokey voice. A couple of there songs will be played for ever and ever and you will always hear them at every classic rock gig being covered! Metallica not long ago covered Lizzy's version of Whiskey in a Jar - That's what happens to legends music and they were legends. RIP Phil .. gone too soon and we need a film to bring him back into our life's.

What a great record. Im gobsmacked by the amount of racism in the comments. Music is a universal language that can touch everybody. It is there for everyone to be enjoyed. There are no boundaries on who can enjoy it. So embrace the music and let go of all the anger. There is plenty of that in our lives already.

Scott had to be one of the coolest looking cats back in this era wielding his Les Paul. That hair? Marcia Brady would be jealous! And he was a helluva player! Love Thin Lizzy!

This should be at the very top of The Isle of Man TT play list every year. Just like Phil Lynott. Every rider no matter how big or small, is a legend.

Remember when I was ten miming to Phil on my ghetto blaster at full volume in the kitchen and, wanking my air guitar solo Hendrix-style, I turned to find my folks watching me as if I was possessed. Until then I was a sweet kid who sang in the church choir.
