Have you seen these large tile panels before? Here’s a video that shows some of the process for installation of these products.

This video is great. I got some tips I will be using and ensuring the tiling guy does the job correctly on my Reno.

Thanks man, we enjoyed doing this project. One panel was pretty tight. If there had been any outlets I would have strongly considered getting another panel. I’m glad it all went smoothly.

I love the outlet strip under the cabinets instead of cutting into the tile.

We like the under cabinet outlets as well. It makes the backsplash so clean without them in the way.

Beautiful job. 1 question. Are there no outlets ?
@friendlyneighborhoodtileguy9 ай бұрын
This particular job the outlets and switches are located on the underside of the upper cabinets

Great video thanks for sharing. Would you be willing to share pricing for a job like this? Seems the industry is moving more and more towards large format porcelain and gptp in all types of spaces and I find pricing these jobs to be somewhat of a challenge. Thanks!

For this job the labor was $2,500. I don’t know what the cost of the porcelain panel was.

Does the grout line have to be that big? Also are there better ways to cut so the pattern matches up better?
@friendlyneighborhoodtileguy Жыл бұрын
The grout is 1/8” joint, which is the minimum grout joint recommended by the manufacturer. Without ordering extra panels I don’t have a way to line the pattern up any better. The left side of the stove is perfect (it’s actually the same piece, just cut to match the right side joint), the right side and corner are lined up the best we can given the pattern on the tile itself. If someone has a software program that the tile can be uploaded into, you might be able to get a better flow. We only had a few inches of extra tile to work with, I don’t see a program offering much help.

Why didn't you clean out those joints when the thinset was still wet?
@friendlyneighborhoodtileguy4 ай бұрын
With so few joints it wasn’t difficult to clean out the next day

What is the thickness of the porcelain tile or slab?
@friendlyneighborhoodtileguy6 ай бұрын
We use 8mm for our projects. Countertop material can be as thin as 3mm+
