Nice!!! Gonna do the 3rd drill today with my team. They have a bad habit of getting beat and trying to slide to catch up. Now this won't always work but it will definitely be better than sliding the while time. U are not catching him that way

Defence is probably my best trait in basketball but this made me even better! I even made the u14 A-team and I’m the point guard I’m done the season cause of coronavirus but I averaged 4 steals and 5 points and 6 assists so thank you very much

#2 is the Crossover run into the Slide Which helps with the quick hip turn The old school way is to swing step which is slower but wont get you crossed up as easily Biggest tip should be to watch the waist and also beat opponent to the spot In order to cut them them to change direction

Don’t ever do drill 2. Always maintain ur balance and use your feet to rapidly fire into the ground and from your left or right foot depending on your atttacker direction, hop or stride quickly and dip your head and shoulders forward below the opponents level and when u beat him to the guessed spot defend it and rise up your shoulders and use ur torso hips to check him if he decides to try and bump you off the spot u have taken use ur Hands and be active shadowing the ball and remember his tendencies and his shot form and let him shoot over u rather than beat u to a spot and either pressuring ur next line of defense or just an easy bucket.you must rely on making him think about you and what ur doing rather than u keeping up with him which is a guessing game on ur part and makes you useless as a defender. The game was meant to be physical don’t ever let someone bump u off ur spot stay within ur radios shoulder with if ur feet pass ur shoulders exaggerated and u try and defend but the offensive player makes contact on his move and contacts u outside of ur shoulders you are not controlling ur spot u are fouling but use a t step rather than crossing ur feet to recover.

My way of playing biggers players is just being more physical n defense not hard you have to want to stop your opponent n hairs have the heart n just keep working, if u really want to stop a biggr guy just have that drive to make sure he don’t do nothing
@kobe4436
@kobe4436 6 жыл бұрын
You should not be defending bigger guys if you are its called a mismatch what you want to do is exactly what you do when normally defending someone however get lower down their hip they won't bump you or use any body advantages if your at their core of gravity they can't spin and if they try to spin poke that ball go all out on getting it
@melody8285
@melody8285 6 жыл бұрын
Never think about blocking a taller and bigger guy. Force him outside of his comfort zone where he can shoot comfortably, in that case, even if he shoots, it won’t go in because he didn’t have the proper form
