You want special try this out: I was in a campaign where everyone was a hybrid and humans didn't exist. Even the NPC's where hybrids. My character was Torch an Orc/Ogre berserker turned monk. We had the rogue Whiskers who was half Drow half Tabaxi and all hoarder. Seriously the guy was obsessed with shiny things. The Teifling Dragonborn Bob who was a Sorcerer. Then the party leader Sorscha wad a Gnome Halfling fighter. The most important NPC's were Cricket the ancient monk who was a Tortle Wood Elf hybrid. He taught Torch the way of Zen after literally killing him in 3 rounds before reviving me. Then there was the half Mountain Dwarf half Golaith artificer John Doe who hated people and had to be "encouraged" to lend a hand in saving the realm. Torch told him that he needed to increase his Karma and reach Enlightenment or Torch would make his internals become his externals. That campaign was hilarious and weird as all get out.

My first trip…1977, shroom tea, fixed out in the pasture on a beautiful spring day in N Fl, just a short walk to a breathtaking Florida Spring (that was only locals back then…today? It’s destroyed. It’s where my eldest was conceived a few years later, same…kind of trip 🥰. After that-mescaline at a music fest, where I met my eldest’s daddy…then about 6 years later on a rare break from home, school and work, with my old girlfriends…one lived in a beautiful old Victorian with all stained glass windows, a pool and gardens…acid. I wasn’t impressed, too paranoid and the Saudi students next door kept trying to crash our slumber party. I locked myself in a 3rd story room, stared at the windows, then tried to write some music..but some dude kept screaming “Rapunzel” telling me to throw my hair out. Thank heavens I survived those crazy days…😂🤷🏼‍♀️ My health is going downhill and my girls promised to bring up some shrooms this holiday season so we can do them together…should be interesting 😁😂

But also it's a metaphorical tribute to older styles of animation, and in that way it provides a visual reference for the viewer. What Keyleth actually sees in that moment probably wouldn't mean anything to us, just as that style of animation wouldn't mean anything to Keyleth, because she didn't grow up in a world with old black-and-white cartoons produced by Walt Disney and Max Fleischer. If you still don't understand - if you're still stuck on "But that isn't what a trip looks like to me" - then you should go find something else to watch while you're tripping. This isn't for you.
