No need to go to a doctor. Doctors won't give antibiotics unless you've had it on your chest for 2 to 3 weeks, by which time it would normally be clearing. Rightly so, otherwise antibiotics will cease to have any effect .

I really feel the heating should be a top priority. I know you're all used to wrapping up and being stoic, but winter virus have been found to stay in the atmosphere longer in cold environments. This quate is from Bupa ( a British health care provider) Research has found that some of the viruses responsible for colds and flu can survive more easily in cold, dry conditions with little sunlight. Droplets that contain influenza viruses (for example, from coughing and sneezing) can also stay in the air for longer if it’s dry. Also our imune system is compromised when cold. I dont know the current situation with the heating company, but its really time to get this finished. I know also the tragic circumstances are dreadful, but all your health is also important too.xx

Might seem a bit dramatic, but have you considered Covid tests?. It has been rampant in the UK for several weeks now. It has changed slightly, the cough is still there but not as bad as in the past. But it does make you feel generally unwell without specific symptoms.

Hello lovely people. When I lived in Boston in New England, we used a Dehumidifier to get the winter dampness out of the house. Unlike a humidifier or vaporizer, the Dehumidifier condenses the dampness into a container of water that you periodically empty. Maybe that might help Amaury's room.

Every year when it gets so cold in the Chateau you all go down with awful colds. When I think of all the thousands you must have spent on installing Heating and not having it connected for some reason seems crazy. It must be something serious to be in this situation. Once the inspection of Amaury's work on the boiler room is done, then lots of the ceilings will get new vents to use the new boiler equipment. The new wood stoves have to be used now. The few floors with electrical heating need to be turned on, and Amaury's is insulating bedrooms as they redecorate them.

@rpierce7004 we use several drops of essential oils: Ravensara and Eucalyptus are good. Comfrey oil is very powerful. A drop. If rubbed on the chest, it should be diluted. Typically,it is cut with sweet almond oil, which is a carrier oil. Or purchase a comfrey rub. Also, drinking ginger tea: slice up the ginger root like coins 1/3 - 1/2 C quarter 3-5 garlic cloves, toss in a coffee pot size pot of water, take off as soon as it starts to boil, stain into mug, mix in honey.

⁠When I was growing up, we used Olbas Oil (which contained essential oils). A few drops in a bowl of boiling water and then cover your head to inhale.

Isobel really should see a doctor, pneumonia is so dangerous in seniors and they can get it easily once they get a cold. I’m finally on the mend after 3 weeks of hardly able to get up or eat. I finally gave in and within a few days the antibiotic was doing its job rapidly, miraculous really. Take care all, lots of Vitamin C, liquids and rest. 🥰🙋🏼‍♀️
