salad-bar21 bad idea dude. Mr2’s are mid engined.... ie, they transition weird and like to swing around because the weight is all in the back. Get a cheap beater like a Miata or a camaro/firebird or something FR layout. Much easier to drift

I gonna go ahead and assume (sorry if i sound dumb or whatever) but would drifting a MR2 be very difficult to drift since the engines near the rear instead of up front? there wouldnt be much weight up front it'd all be in the back so there wouldnt be much traction for the front wheels making drifting it alot harder right?
@chrisbyers47265 жыл бұрын
The weight distribution on them is pretty close to 50/50 actually. Plus the engine being forward of the rear axle helps. Never drifted one or even drove one come to think of it so just have specs not real life experience with the MR2.
@billymerritt4205 жыл бұрын
MR2s are well known for having snap oversteer. As an everyday Joe driving one could have many issues controlling this I believe an everyday drifter would be able to overcome the issue. I'm still curious if you can flick it properly though 🤔 Side note: Toyota pretty much fixed the issue in '93 but the older models are more susceptible to it.
@saladbar215 жыл бұрын
I have two second gen mr2’s. I can say from experience that it is difficult to maintain a slide because of the weight being in the back and short wheel base make the car really snappy.
@Synthetic-Chicken5 жыл бұрын
Who said a SW20 MR2 can't drift?!?! I had one for 2 years and I used to hang it sideways all the time, they are a difficult car to drift but it can be done. They get to a point of no return if you don't maintain wheel control

Sucks to hear but that’s racing. Build it race it break it fix it repeat. Lesson to learn here is anytime something breaks, next time take a set of spares of the same parts because chances are it’ll break again. Does Okachan have a toolbox of spares that gets loaded on the truck(s) with the cars? That might be worth reviewing with him.
