Things I Like about the KWA LM4

A lot of the issues with this gun are fixed with a cleaning, lube, and quality ammo. I bought mine used, and have been running it for years with minimal issues. Replaced a few worn parts, cleaned it, and lubed up with silicone oil. I don't care about the bolt hold open, so i haven't bothered with it.

hey can you use aluminum bbs with the stock metal feed ramp on the plastic nozzle?

I wouldn’t recommend aluminum BBs with any Airsoft GBBR because: 1) The nozzle, feed lips, hop up (not on the KWA) may be made of plastic which would cause additional wear and possibly break these parts. 2) You will probably scratch your inner barrel because they are designed for plastic BBs and may be a softer metal than the metal BBs 3) The hop up rubber will probably get worn out and will not spin the BB correctly I would recommend you look at BB guns because they are designed to shoot metal pellets and are a fraction of the price of Airsoft GBBRs/GBBs.

Interesting perspective. This is IMO the worst GBBR on the market. Id be interested to hear if you have had any issues. I had so many issues its crazy,when considering an MWS isnt much more.

LOL definitely. Stay tuned for the next video on all the things I don’t like about the KWA M4 and you may find you had the same problems. Luckily the KWA wasn’t that expensive where I live and it was around the same price as a WE rather than the MWS. What kinds of issues did you run into with yours? Thanks for your comment!

But i had a bolt that was out of spec, the bolt lock was not particularly reliable, bolt bounced like mad which led to double feeds which broke the hop unit. The after market hop unit also broke this way. The double feeds are a huge issue due to the double stacked feed lips matched with the bolt bounce. Also found the mags very heavy compared to any other gbbr mags and leaked like mad 😂

Can the selector be swapped for an ambidextrous one from a regular AR?

I haven’t tested it, but I would assume most selectors would be only safe and semi auto.

No. Different detent & spring placement for one, don’t know if a selector would even fit. Hopefully the newer KWA ARs changed this.

I didnt have double feed issue. It happened, but not always and never had been issued. I hate the paint though. And the pmag is so heavy, but i use stagnag. Dont dryfire it. It will shred your magazine follower and caused double feed. Most kwa double stack like m9, mp9, but never double feed. It just an opinion that because it looks double stack and it double feed. Just like ghk, the lips is getting wider and tolerance is ruined, thats why it is double feed. The negative things in this platform is hop up rubber. To thin, no nub. Use Aplus with standard tensioner. Dont change with maple leaf, rubber to hard and stainless tensioner has no pressure.

These are some great tips Ferdinando, thanks for sharing! I didn’t know about the dry firing shredding the magazine follower but luckily I didn’t dry fire it too much. I also noticed the same thing as you, that the mags are double-stacked all the way up as opposed to most of the other mags being single-stacked (TM, GHK, WE). I tried fixing the feed lips with super-glue and it helps a little bit but after some research, they say to replace the affected feed lips with some newer designed ones.

You haven’t put more than a bag of bbs through it have you? Not knocking you at all I felt the exact same way until I got to about the 5k bbs mark and everything started getting fucky

Looks, i am not kwa fans. I am aware this platform is most hated platform. Here is my experience. Me and my friend used to have airsoft club. One of my friend put kwa lm4 and left it in club as he thought it was a garbage and hope somebody bought it. But this model was the last survivor towards our harsh attitude. Black paint from the body peeled off, maybe just left 55 percent. When i came to my club, there were always somebody playing and shooting it. It had become club whore. Until most of us stop airsofting. We had it on 2014 and put way overrrr 20000 rds. Some parts of course changes and break, but it is the most durable product we ever know. Magazine was leaking, but it self repair over time.

@@ferdinandolatin2125 Yes, in this case YMMV. Unfortunately in my case, I did all I could think of to fix all the issues we were having with it, to no avail. It's good that you have had a positive experience with yours but I really tried my best to give it a fair shot. I read that some issues can be solved if you change some parts, but I didn't want to sink more money into it.

You can just hold down the bolt catch and fire without BBs

I find that it overhops anything lightweight (under 0.36) even if you adjust the dial very slightly. Plus since it's a GBBR you go through those heavyweight BBs really fast and it gets expensive.
