In my experience, the first three months were the toughest! With baby #2, it is so much easier, only because you know what works and what does not work and you know that you don't have to do everything perfect.

Father of 3 children here. One thing I learned over time is they are each different and unique in their own way. If they want to wear boots it’s not worth the fight or even the struggle because in that moment they are showing their personality.

Love your videos!! Jordan and baby girl are so lucky to have you as their mom!! Best wishes with your new baby and all of it will be alright!! There is no manual on how to be a parent so we learn as we go and if you have more than one child then you adjust!!!🙏🏻

I’m only on the third point of the video but this is helping me so much. I was just like you with my first in the dead of covid. I’m now a SAHM and due with a little boy this time and already feel the doom of “my life is going to be over”. Trying my best to release the control I tried to have with my first. Thank you for this. ❤❤❤ we got this!

Way to go, mom! Yes the next is so much easier than the 1st. I am a mom of 3 and definitely had a similar experience with my first and 2nd. I feel proud of you for being intentional about your changes. Baby wearing is great for the first 3-6 months. I loved the wrap for as long as I could with my 3rd, but he grew too heavy about 6 months. There are so many ways to wear the wrap though so don't let that stop you. Ideas for using wraps is a good thing to look up!!!

Girl, we’re the same! I just had my second in January. I had my first 2 years ago also. I struggled with being an anxious first time mom, didn’t ask for help, didn’t leave the house, and was obsessed with the sleeping schedule too. I promise it will be such a more enjoyable experience this time around! I have so much peace this time knowing God has it all in His hands, and I have no reason to be so overwhelmed and worried about the day to day. You were made for this!

My baby is almost one and the not asking for help thing hits home so hard, even today. I still fight myself on the thought that only I can fix it if she's upset and that I'm inconveniencing people by asking for help. It's not a good time.

I’m currently 20 weeks pregnant with baby #2 and YES to ALL of this. Everythingggg you said are things I’ve already decided I’m doing differently as well! Especially the blackout curtains/strictttttt schedule 😅

Thank you so much for sharing! As a first time mom and 3 months postpartum, I can relate to you so much! I was terrified of our little girl getting sick, I felt like she had to be on a schedule and follow it exactly, and I was also so so protective over her. I wanted her all to myself, the thought of someone wanting to hold her made me panic. She’s only 3 months but I’m feeling a lot better. Some days don’t go exactly as planned and that’s okay. Grace upon grace mama 💗

I use my structured carrier the most because I have a newborn and an 18 month old. I love the wraps, but I wasn’t able to do as much with my toddler bc of the lack of head control and support. Ring slings are great once they’re older.

Love that you’re planning on baby wearing and getting out of the house more! I LOVED baby wearing my son and heavily relied on it to get stuff done. My favorite carrier was the ergobaby embrace, it was so easy to use and he slept so well in it! Good luck with your postpartum journey!!😊

the sollybaby wrap is my favorite!! especially for the little newborn stage. they feel super secure in it, it’s quick and easy to use once you get the hang of it, it’s easy to store in the diaper bag and it makes going to church sooo much easier

You sound like me when I was a new parent! Haha. I'm pregnant with baby number 3 and I plan for the baby to roll along with us, because we have to! But yes, that first baby, so much control and anxiety. I think every mother has to go through that. I still have a lot to learn even now.

I tried so many baby carriers. Tula was the only one that fit my smaller body and felt comfortable and secure.

I hope Michael takes more pictures of you and makes sure you’re cared for in the times when you don’t have the energy to delegate! You work so hard as a parent! Just know it’s not all on you and you don’t need to feel shame for needing rest and struggling to ask for help. I hope Michael sees this so he can see how much you need more help from him!

I love baby wearing! My favorite is the ergo baby mesh 360! I did use a wrap when she was a tiny newborn.

Well your message is hitting home for this NOT new mom! My babies are 14, 16 and 19 and I needed to hear your message that God chose me to take perfect care of them. Parenting teens is a totally different world of worries and I’m often afraid I’m messing them up. So from a veteran mama let me say thank you for the reminder! And yes, get in those pictures before they are moody teens with a strong opinion about it 😂 Prayers for a healthy delivery and sacred early moments with your new family of 4 ❤

Emma! I also had my first in December (she’s 15 months now) and felt like I rotted away for sooo long. Watched tv all day for weeks honestly and felt very shut out from the world. We fully plan on trying to have our next sometime in the warmer months so I’m able to get out in the sunshine and walk. Wishing you the best 💕

Hey great video Emma, this is so true I was also the same way with my son as a newborn strict with feeding changing and sleep schedule and he only slept good at my house with room darkening curtains. He is now almost two. When I have my next baby I want to change it up and wear the baby since I never did also. I also looked into too much stuff online which causes more anxiety and I had the mom guilt if I had to ask for help or someone to watch him a few hours.

Doing research online will send you over the edge lol. Great ideas that I’m sure will make the baby 2 experience a breeze! God has already planned everything out. “Do not be anxious about your life…”

I relate SO much!!! You might be interested in The Postnatal Depletion Cure book by Dr Oscar Serralach. He talks about how to rebuild your mind and body postpartum. I had SOOOO MUCH anxiety, fatigue, health issues, etc postpartum and I think he nailed the reason why. I got tests done and I really was so deficient in my nutrients and hormones. So I'm planning on rebuilding and following his protocol so my next postpartum can be infinitely better!!!
