When I became frum I had the impression that correct Torah observance would make a person whole and happy; any need for therapy must therefore stem from a failure to observe the Torah properly. This is clearly a mistaken notion, though I find it challenging to articulate WHY it's mistaken. Thanks for a wonderful, thought-provoking podcast.

Is anyone else a bit puzzled when therapists say they "really want to help more people," knowing full well that several extra hundreds of dollars per month is often an impossible expense for the families who need it most?! I have an idea that might help- therapists can reduce their prices. It's not rocket science. Why on earth are they charging such ridiculous amounts, can anyone explain?
