Lol everything on this list not only applies to trading but to life 1) Life is a mental game 2) You need to be tough because you will be tested 3) You will lose a lot in life 4) It's a never ending process 5) Find your own philosophy or a way that you will live your life (don't just copy others) 6) If you can live properly, meaning sticking to your beliefs and philosophy and not straying from those values that guide you, you have a chance to live a good life.Nothing is guaranteed lol. Just like the market.

Perfect commentary for me right now after a rough day of mental meltdown beating myself up because I broke my own rules (a rare but annoying event!). Thanks. Once again, a brilliant video Mark.

Thank you for awesome tips! Finding your own strategy is definitely a game changer. Spent a few months copying other people's rules which limited me. Once I integrated the fundamentals as opposed to the specific details of what made my mentors successful, I was able to create my own system which took me from breaking even to consistently profiting.

Number one take away... It's a mind game keeping yourself on track. Seeing each mistake as a valuable lesson and aim to catch it so you don't repeat it. Above all, enjoying the process... Been trading with my daughter's talking them through they are 4 and 7 explaining the price action and the things we will do for each possibility. Seeing it play out is very rewarding, and thinking in probabilities and taking partial positions at each target. Had my worst week but best day after today, really enjoyed the process and can see a clear path to profitability

It's all psychological.. Leave emotions at the door.. You will lose money, Like anything else in life, you have to enjoy the process.. Time and alot of patience is needed.. The effort you put in, is what you will get out of it. The best skill I am teaching myself..

Super advice..having an edge, managing risk and your mindset are the big three I'd say but each one of these takes hard work. New (and unprofitable) traders would do well to look hard at each aspect and try for incremental improvements across the board.

Even just a hobby trader i have noticed that i have now better understanding for risk and profit and edge. I actually continue in a day job because i have an edge in it. It has low financial risk and everyday i can make a profit with reasonable ease.

The part at the end when you said "it's the most rewarding career If you can make it work " Well that's how I feel now but seems kind of too good to be true still kind of new been doing this for about a half year now, I guess if I make it another half year I'll fully embrace that feeling.

Absolutely agree, this is a mental game and that's why I am not doing as well as I could. I run my strategy with real money and in a demo account in a mirror sort of way. My demo account has 2x the profits because I let the profits run, I don't fret, I stick to my strats.

💗💛💚💙 The best advice is to describe your strategy in 1 sentence. If you cant, youre not doing it right. Example: "I trade breaks and re-tests on the 4hour chart of Forex pairs, in the same direction as the Daily macro." 💗💛💚💙

Do you trade technical analysis? And what do you think of people saying technical analysis doesn't work since I see a lot of technical strategies you teach.

Mark does make use of technical analysis. I think TA works because other traders (retail and institutional) see it and base buys/sells decisions on it. Its a man-made self fulfilling prophecy. Because everyone else uses it, it becomes valid....take away the market participants and just have you versus the price, TA doesn't mean a thing

Maybe for a while but that doesn't help with the emotional aspect. For me I learned more by putting something at risk - but only ultra small amounts until consistent (2 yrs).

Trade demo first. Then, trade real money. That's when you'll learn the real game, how to handle the pressure of winninf and losing money. That's the endgame.
@saxz994 жыл бұрын
I disagree. I would say, learn trading with as little money as you can because it is a completely different game when you have skin in it.
@perficete10004 жыл бұрын
Very few, a tiny fraction will succeed :(( like in professional boxing, chess or Olympic Games. Don’t give people false hopes, they will lose their hard earned money to market scammers. Example. You can train boxing anyone but Mike Tyson will knock out most of them pretty quickly regardless how hard they try. It’s like trying to outplay a teenage computer gamer in his favourite shooter ☝🏻☝🏻☝🏻
@morleycable4 жыл бұрын
I agree but that's because they don't treat trading like a business, to view the time needed (and cost of mistakes) to learn. Most will give up. A bit like starting your own business working 18 hours days and sleeping in your car to get it off the ground...it's no different band agree very tough but doable with the right mindset
