Things Just Keep Getting Better for a Foreigner "Stuck" in Morocco

Trust the process. This is my new motto in life. Just as I think it's all going to go badly, it all turns around and it just keeps getting better! I have to admit, while I DO miss my family and friends in the U.S., I don't feel "stuck" in Morocco! I feel incredibly fortunate and that I'm exactly where I'm supposed to be right now. I'm a moroccan from Rabat, currently a student in France. My dad invited a foreigner in his house when he couldn't go back to his country. They are currently living together in our house (my siblings are with our mom in the countryside enjoying nature). I was touched by the "thank you" video, though I didn't think the "help" you got is something THAT great. It's common sense and humanity I guess ? It's just how we were raised : if you can help extend your hand if you can't just don't harm anybody. Anyways, I hope your stay is comfortable enough in my beautiful country. Glad you found a nice place. I got out of Morocco on last rescue flight. True us in the usa are not used to seeing the fresh hanging meat. Beautiful Morrocco, hope to go back as soon as this coronavirus stuff is figured out. Yes, wash machines are nice. In india I had to do most of my laundry by hand and bucket too. It's a pain and takes a lot of energy. The people there are great, you are blessed.

By the way, just so you know, from a cultural point of view, amongst the greatest good deeds for any muslim, is to help travellers and foreigners, and even more when trouble comes such as being stranded away. Now cook that roasted chicken lemon tajine with green olives and enjoy. Keep in mind experiencing empty desert streets in Morocco is totally unusual... so take some shots, as this is also a lifetime opportunity that may never happen again. Stay safe and be happy !

I came across your videos by accident and watched I believe 3 so far. I wanted to say thank you for sharing your experience and being real about everything. I saw some people share videos saying they are stuck and that they feel like hostages, making it seem as if they are left without any help. I get it, they are trying to get the US government to fly them home but in the process they make Morocco look bad. There are plenty of people who feel entitled and don't get the fact that this virus has affected the whole world and that they are actually safe here in Morocco. It is their right to pressure the US but do it in a way that you are showing the real face of Morocco and not act as if you are in the jungle. I myself spent 25 years in the US and moved back to Morocco 2 years ago. I loved my years there and have come across great people and made plenty of friends back in Orlando. During this crisis, there is plenty of food in the markets and there are no issues getting what you need here. People just need to relax and if they need help, ask for it. Thank you again and stay safe out there :)
