So explain how the big changes will happen on the ice next season? The core 5 all have NMC contracts, so who waives. 25-26 maybe they let Marner and Tavares walk. Maybe at the TDL Marner or JT waive to go to a contender. That's the options unless they ask for a trade. Coaching staff and management should all be gone next year but none of the big 5 are going anywhere.

We have seen players with NMC moved before, and while it is more difficult it happens, i dont see JT moved though,i dont think he has much value for the money he maked.

Im a fan of both teams and theres 1 thing I think that will help leafs next year because I do believe they just gave up. Trade Marner and Tavares use that money for 2 solid dmen some depth and a good goalie. Keep what you can and have Matthews top line with 2 supports like domi and Nylander being 2nd line have one of the depths there and another running the 3rd line. Rielly needs help so have a real top pair and a solid 2nd pair. Having this top heavy of a team is clearly not it and all the teams that win recently dont have 5 mega allstars they have 2-3 allstars and depth and solid defense. Oh and gut the coaching staff and higher ups from top to bottom besides GM.

I was a huge leafs fan....until last night. Facts are facts and why the leafs wont win in the playoffs. The leafs.have 1 top 4 d and a plethora of 3rd pairing dmen playing minutes they shouldn't be. They never replaced muzzin. Front office knew this and spent 22 mill and signed klingberg lol Brodie is garbage 11 mil 3rd line center that you promote in the playoffs. JT has to go. Marner has to go Keep the core 3 matthews, nylander, rielly Rebuilding your damn D!!!

I know that it is a easy answer, but think about it. first it was management so they change it, then it was coaching so they changed it, than its no key players, so they changed it. and so on and so on. Nothing works. Once a team makes the playoffs, they need to beat in a series 4 other teams to win the Stanley Cup, let that sink in just a second. That is 1 more than the entire league back in the Early 60's, which was the last time a Toronto Maple Leaf team won a Cup. So what really needs to change is the Team! Sell Them, move them, change the home ice, Change the team colors. But just get rid of the franchise and bring in some thing completely new. How many NEW Franchises have won a Cup since the Leaf's last won? Almost all of the new franchise teams have. The last team to win was St. Louis and they were one of the first new teams to be added and even they finally won again Before the Leaf's. IT's the Franchise, Get rid of the entire Franchise. Right down to the door man , the janitor, hell even the bricks in the building. This why you are here. Whining about last 9 years, management, coaching, d, goalies, in-fighting, pp%, Mathew’s sick, Samsonov is on/off, and on and on. Look at your damn stats during the season. Focus on the next game, get past it, learn from it, move on. Every time Leaf’s have a bad game or stretch it’s the end of the world, we’ll never win. Now you have to dig out of that hole and rise above it. Especially in playoffs you drive forward with everything, not drag 9 years 50+ years of fucking baggage with it. Just too much energy expended on moving forward. Suck it up buttercups! From a die hard Bruin fan that prefers playoff hockey over mid-season bantam hockey - but I’ll take the win anyway.
