The degree of judgement & criticism is ridiculous. While being a role model should be taken seriously, but the degree of canceling is awful in Korea!

having tattoo, smoking, go to club etc, i think that not something that should bother anyone as long as the person who did it is an adult. but drunk driving, underage drinking and substances is straight up criminal. there's a reason why south korea have law about it, and if someone breaking the law, they deserved some punishment.

My opinions Everyone is human beings, South Korea has these boundaries of rules, parties, including all environments, laws, going through all of their lives, making people really quitting all industries, including leaving work & whole thing can’t have space them yourselves, environments are strictly, Adulthood in South Korean, there many Repercussions In theirs environments, it’s 🪪 for everyone to get in clubs including in that factories.

You can drink at work but not at a party??? This is just asking for these actors to have issues. I guess being an actor means you can no longer be human. I just wonder why the "fans" think this is right.

Now I understand why Korean actors are single or don't want to get married. Do you think fans will follow this rules in real life. Seriously, Actors are human first and celebrity later. Let them live.

This bothers me so much. 6:40 Restricting people to perfection goes against the actors need to remain open and in touch with humanity. The thing one learns dating ( human relationships, compassion, heartbreak) and out socializing is the very fodder one needs in their acting. Not to mention not being allowed out in the world must lead to utter depression for many. IMO it’s the weird Korean Fandom that should be held to account for their behavior. Following people all over. Christ, let someone eat in a restaurant!

So, a Korean actor portrays working environments of drinking and smoking (although the latter is awful) inn their films, plus dating and kissing (oh shock!) yet are supposed to automatons in real life. No sex, drugs and rock n'roll for the poor actors who are hounded if they do indulge. Netizens are the ones to be castigated for expecting unrealistic behaviour from their oh so human idols, and they really have no business condemning someone else for things they sure as heck are guilty of.

Hence proved, Korea is for robots🤖 not for human beings I noticed that in korea and also in japan that every thing is managed that just make human being scencere and well organized but also feels very uncomfortable and exosting that you not smoke or drink publicly On the other hand you influence people by making dramas where you drink, smoke, use foul language, Harrasment and many more people also influence from this

Off camera, actors also have the right to live their private life, in a meeting, there will always be alcoholic beverages to consume (of course, not being a designated driver) or smoke, I think they could do it with measure.

Ok, so ya we all know that contracts can have its does or don’t, but really now. Some of these regulations are down right non existent. Why you ask? Because times change and we need a reality check on our Ideals, actors, and Actresses. We are not perfect and that may disappoint those who look up to them once they do something so not disorienting in the “ real world”, and that’s where we see the society of the younger generation begin to behave with mental health issues. So let’s tone it down for those Korean Ideals, actors and what not. Maybe we can turn around the death rate on our younger generation.

To be fair in my opinion the western attitude to 'celebrities' drinking/drugs use and inappropriate behaviour in general is not good, it used to be much less tolerant but that has all gone awry along with so many of the moral standards and the concept of responsibility and accountability so for me I would not disagree with the Korean attitude personally and especially driving whilst drunk or after using other substances is unacceptable. I think the west needs to clean up it's act and start holding people to account much more and not the other way around - Korea being more lenient, people who are in positions where their behaviour can affect young vulnerable minds should take responsibility for that. As the saying goes with great power comes great responsibility and there should be consequences for your actions when you have that platform of influence. Aongside the smoking/cursing and mistreating staff or anyone is just a sign of ignorance and self importance and I have often found that those people of the highest status whether that be financial or in fact titles etc are more often than not the most gracious, kind and well mannered and it shows an understanding of others rather than complete self absorbtion. Tattoos seem to be a real scourge everywhere at the moment, and I agree I am not a fan but if you have them then less is more and legs and full arm tats again personally I do not like them plus they may look ok when you are young etc but when you get older mmmmm???? not so great.

They should upgrade more on behaiving exactly 💯 as they should. To become an idol, every individual should attain a great deal of talent quality & decent personality. Sacrifices has to be endured! Standard is high but, needed because your facing public, the public owns you & your life & your way of living. & If, anyone cannot control there manners/behavior? This video is stupid. The list of things they aren't allowed to do is very outdated, and a lot of the examples given are either old or have layers. Netizen's weren't angry that Yoo Ahin visited a club. They were angry because he was recently arrested for heavy, illegal drug use. In the states, we would also have something to say about someone who swore sobriety and disavowed party behavior while continuing to partake in the same behavior. They also weren't angry at Nam Joohyuk for drinking, but rather, disappointed in the fact that he was underage at the time the pictures were taken. Drunk driving SHOULD be frowned upon and has nothing to do with strict Korean standards, most Korean celebrities smoke, and lots of them also have tattoos with no effect on their careers whatsoever. But what really kills me is this idea that Korean celebrities can't date. Yes, they fight to keep their relationships private, but give me a LIST of people who lost their careers or reputations due to dating, marriage, or divorce. This video says Song Joongki and Song Hyekyo? He went on to star in the highest rated drama of 2022 and she recently made international waves with The Glory. Shin Minah and Kim Woobin have been dating publicly for nearly a decade and both thrive. IU and Lee Jongsuk recently announced their relationship at an award show and were nothing but celebrated. This weird folklorian idea that celebrities can't date is so proveable false, it makes me angry every time they say it. I think some Korean agencies even force their clients to deny their relationships because of this... but like I said, it's just not true. A very outdated belief.
@someotheralias Жыл бұрын
in the states, we don't criticize celebrities for using illegal substance. We sympathize with them and understand that they might be dealing with some personal issues like mental health (something that Korean society ignores to the point where it has one of the highest suicide rates in the world) and hope they are getting help. Celebrities dealing with mental health in the US have more support than Korean celebrities.
@ohhhhmydarling Жыл бұрын
@@someotheralias That's definitely not true. SOME people might sympathize, but mean comments are everywhere. This weird idea that Korea is the only country that treats their celebrities horribly is truly not it. And like I said, the claims are highly exaggerated to further an agenda. Yes, Korea has a suicide problem, but most of that is due to how their society is built as a whole, not because there isn't an emphasis on mental health or bullying. The pressures, competition, repercussions, and responsibility placed on everyone who lives there are severe and a lot of people who commit suicide do it for reasons beyond mental illness. It many cases, these people truly don't have better alternatives. In the US, most people who kill themselves are doing so for reasons that can be worked out. In Korea, most people who kill themselves are doing it for reasons that can't.
@someotheralias Жыл бұрын
@@ohhhhmydarling My point still stands and your comment reiterates it. That Korea's society is flawed and focuses more on ones wrong in a patriarchal perspective. Korean citizens demonize a person for doing drugs more than a sex offender even though that person contributes to society more positively than a sex offender (Yoo Ah In versus the cram school teacher who sexually assaulted his female students). Again in the states, we don't make a big deal about people secretly doing drugs and getting found out. Drunk driving is a whole different matter. And it's an irrelevant comparison. In the US, people kill themselves because good resources do not helps. In Korea, people kill themselves because there are no resources. So again, in the states, we're not as heartless to each other. "The pressures, competition, repercussions, and responsibility placed on everyone who lives there are severe and a lot of people who commit suicide do it for reasons beyond mental illness." Yeah... that's called environmental impact on mental health. Just because it's not mental illness by your definition doesn't mean it's not a form of mental illness. If Korea took mental health as seriously as the US (which isn't as serious as it could be, but better than Korea), we wouldn't see high suicide rates in Korea. Like come on, they passed a bill that says 60 hour work week is legal.
