Best to enjoy a family visit, keep your head in the game. Go for a run and do your daily 7. Basically be respectful to the Marine Corps by being humble and respectful of everyone. Don't put yourself in situations where there is likely to be trouble. Staying at a club too late and avoid trouble. I personally never went to bars except the base club for a beer with my fellow Marines. Semper Fi

Boot camp will be the easiest you will have it in the Corps. Yes it sucks but at the same time, every part of your life is taken care of. You are literally told how and when to do everything. When you graduate, you have more control over your life, but you also are making more decisions. During boot camp your biggest stressors will be missing home, lack of sleep (you only get the opportunity to sleep for exactly 8 hours, if you're lucky to not have firewatch or 2 hours of firewatch), and never doing anything that's good enough. Just to name a few.

my brother owns a nissan sentra, i would get a car used and build some credit if you are going to buy something off the lot. just make sure you get it checked yp. i bought a car off a higher up(im a reservists too btw), car had issues and ended up done in 6 months, lost out on 4500. I have a decent job so that wasbt too big of a deal but it was a lesson forsure. My brother and my dad both have sentras and they havent had any issues for many years.

Just want to let everyone know that there is no more post bootcamp leave. I graduated boot about 2 months ago, and because COVID, nobody got boot leave. The Marines that weren’t getting boot leave were performing at a higher level at ITB and MCT than those that did previously, so the Marine Core decided too make that a permanent thing. If you’re an 03, you get leave after ITB, if you’re not, you get your first leave after MCT and your school. NO MORE BOOT LEAVE. DO NOT LISTEN TO YOUR RECRUITER IF THEY SAY OTHER WISE.
